What were being served up is error ridden rubbish with the same mistakes and shortcuts taken by multiple players repeatedly.
This is how they are being set up, this is how / why we are struggling. We dont have a coherent gameplan to try and mitigate the problems we have in our squad and instead continually fail to even execute basic skills correctly, this is a coaching issue plain and simple.
The last 20 mins at Saints showed how weak this team can be when they ran the white flag up and Saints dutifully blew out the score.

If Id've paid all that money to travel there, buy tickets, a few pints and more than likely a £20 taxi home from the Supporters coach when money is tight for everyone I think I have the right to show my displeasure without it going into personal attacks. Im not fickle, im peed off that a team whos standards should be much higher is happy to bumble along the bottom half of the league and the powers that be up to now have been content to let this happen.

Well I did make a big effort to get across to watch the game but didn't resort to chanting against my own side... horses for courses.

I don't think it is a coaching issue plain and simple. You can't dissociate the influence coaching has on individuals, the team and results of course - but as I keep saying performance is multi-factorial. You say the team was not trying, I don't accept that. I think some individuals let the side down - and you don't need many before the score will blow out against top sides. Players like Frawley might be over-trying if anything. Players like Mik and McDonnell try their hearts out every week.

I also disagree that the players or the powers that be are happy for us to bumble. GH needed to relinquish some control and it looks like he has, finally. And the squad certainly needs improving; the coaching probably needs improving too.

The bottom line is that Leeds need to be better. We have been bad for way too long - and this pre-dates RS which so many on here seem to forget. We won the 2017 GF and snagged a CC win during COVID but aside from that we haven't been a dominant side for what ten years nearly? We already tried changing the coach about four times over that period and it hasn't worked. This new Sporting Director role should be really important and a step forward; but it really does depend who they appoint.

Newman looked borderline unfit/injured at times to me, I think he just has a really petulant side to him sometimes which he still needs to work on. He's an incredibly frustrating player; physically moves like a thoroughbred racehorse, but his attitude has often led to problems. For one of our higher profile players he needs to be more of a positive influence and leader, and get his consistency sorted out.

To label him as having a bad attitude is to not really know the person. You couldn't meet a more determined and caring individual, the way he's coming back from horrendous injuries is testament to that. Have a read of the article about him and his brother and you'll see he's quite open about his challenges, he's self aware of how they manifested in a difficult time and working to improve himself.

I don't really know him no. In the article he talks himself about taking therapy and improving the way he handles situations... being determined is a given, he has been guilty of being a bit of a pain in the backside at times though.

He wasn't great against Saints was he?

For someone who wants to jump quickly to the coaches defence, thats some real compassion for what the lads been through with his family and crediting his self awareness Jim.

You'll find he says himself that saints last week was probably his worst game.

I'm fearing another Leeds v Hudds game here which we should of sealed with a victory... Just come through Headingley now and getting on the bus were some Rhino "fans" saying they'll be praying for a Cas win just to get Rohan nearer the exit door!

If we continue to play as poorly and scrape a win then in the grand scheme of things i could see the argument for preferring to lose if it gets RS nearer the exit door as it would be a 'hollow' 2 points. Going into the game id love to see a performance that really indicated that we're capable of much better than weve seen.

But that’s presuming Smith goes, personally id prefer us to win and play well whoever is in charge, especially as were not far off (points wise) the teams above, if we were rock bottom id kind of understand it
