Assuming we don’t get any bans (I know, bear with me…) then who drops out for Newman? My money would be on Tindall, who I think had a decent game but is clearly the least experienced and would be most targeted of the backs. Hardaker would go to the Wing.
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

I think so. Or Sutcliffe to second row with Martin, Gannon and possibly Bentley missing.

Also what if fusitua plays. Then you might go 1. Myler 2. Fusitua 3. Newman 4. Sutcliffe 5. Hardaker 6. Austin 7. Sezer
Maybe briscoe gets a bench spot as potential for Newman and fusitua to break down again

Saints have dropped standards, Leeds have dropped further
“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

Teams like Cas, Hudds and Catalans have also reached showpiece occasions over the last couple of seasons. We currently have a great Saints side who have clearly been the best team over the last few years, but that won't last forever. Quality wise I reckon most Leeds fans would say the gamed peaked between 2004 and 2015 - funny that! Get rid of the current overzealous officiating and I would say the game is still a great product. Crowd figures are pretty flat but they aren't dropping off a cliff, and a successful Leeds side (and now there is real hope) would soon boost averages across the game. I do wonder if a lot of Leeds fans who have seemingly given up hope on the game were hopelessly spoiled by the greatest unbroken spell of success in the clubs history and just can't cope that we aren't top dogs anymore. But you never know, things can and do change.
That's my point on outcomes, born out over 15 years.
You say this as if it's a new and terrible thing. It's neither. Before the Super League area, in the old first past the post years, Wigan won seven times in a row, with the rest not really playing the same sport. If you throw first past the post into your analysis you'd also have to factor in Wire ( a couple of times) Hudds, Cas and Catalans, so the evidence points to the competition being harder fought now than it was then.
