Prime Melbourne Storm would struggle to play the Wray Smith seems to want s to play, he’s just not improving us anything like fast enough to challenge. What little faith I had in him is now fully evaporating, I’d hoped with some better players that we would see a change in style and improvement, but I just don’t see it. He needs to be replaced when his contract is up at the end of the year.

I do wonder how many people who slag him off on here constantly have actually ever played the game.
Each to their own though as you say
My problem with Bentley is that we have been waiting for the last couple of years for this amazing to emerge that just isn’t there.
The enthusiasm and effort is countered by the lack of disciple. He gave away a stupid penalty and six again last night when we had them trapped at their end. You also look at the size of him compared to Matautia and we wonder why we lack punch upfront.

Then that’s a problem. Did he sign 2 &1/2 or 3 & 1/2 years? If we don’t seriously improve this year, then he needs to be gone at the end of it. If we look like missing out on the playoffs at any point, he needs to be gone before the end of the year. GH has now spent too much money to be dicking about waiting for something that will never come.
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

That post match interview was embarrassing.
Funny how the fittest and hardest working teams always seem to be “offside” isn’t it and only the losing side ever honour the 10m.
Smith doesn’t coach RL that can consistently beat good teams. Claiming some sort of imaginary RL purist high ground as a defence of your own deficiencies is not tackling the issues.
Ps you would have to hope Frawley will be better when he settles and the weather shapes up as he looks absolutely terrible.

JJB and Ablett gave away penalties galore, but I put that down to the amount of tackles they made, and I reckon Bentley isn’t far off their stats every week.
The worrying thing for me is, the same people that bash him week in, week out, think Oledzki is a world beater.

Maybe Ackers and Miller should have thrown their arms in the air at every play the ball and Leeds may have had a set restart? Just a thought.
