We need squad players who can fill in as required. Moving Miller or Momirovski and Martin if one winger gets injured is the sort of thing that quickly ends up with the whole team in a mess as it knocks on elsewhere. Not to mention diluting the ability of the likes of Miller to influence a game. Far better train Roberts, Edgell up to play on the wing if needed.
In this specific scenario it's not lunacy at all. Momirovski has played for three of the best club sides in the world at both centre and wing. Martin spent nearly all 2023 at centre and did a very creditable job. I'm really not sure about Robert's in general, and although he has time to develop, I just don't think he's an SL standard winger. The game has moved on from throwing young (out of position) lads onto the wing and hoping they'll make a go of it. It's a specialist position nowadays.
