Myler & Hooley left before last season
Olpherts left 2 games into this season so effectively we've released 10 players this off season and brought 5 in so far it'll soon be 10 released & 6 in when Momirovski is confirmed as released and Sivo is announced.
I believe we will still have some cap to plat with but we have to remember this isn't a fantasy league and blease was brought in to sort our salary cap out because it was in some mess. Just to put it into contexts I was told when Lachie Miller had signed at Leeds he is on £260,000 a year on a 3 year contract now Miller isn't a bad player but imo he's not a £250,000 plus player per season so I'd imagine some of the deadwood we have recently released such as Sangare, Goudemand and others would have been on more than they we're worth.
Sivo should be announced this week/ next along with Momirovski and I believe the club will try bring in another body at prop and out recruitment for 2025 will be done.
First off let me say that you're perhaps the only poster on the site who seems to have a genuine pipeline into what's going on at the club. However, I'll eat my daughters wellingtons if Miller earns the money you've quoted above. 250k for an almost novice full-back! GH would never shell that out, surely? Agree re the additional prop though. Think that would represent a very productive period of recruitment.

Just going off what my source has always told me and 95% of the time they have been spot on, let me just remind you that in 2018 leeds we're over the salary cap with arguably one of our weakest squads in many of years Gary Hetheringron has become famously tight but that doesn't mean he hasn't over payed for players espcially this past decade when we have been chasing success since the goldens left

Shocking business if Millers on that, you sure its not 260k over 3 years that would seem more reasonable but even thats on the high side for a project player. The guys not worth over 100k a year
It depends on how it compares to the salary of other FBs in the league. 250k seems like a lot, but it may be the current market rate for an overseas FB in his prime years with other NRL clubs trying to sign him.

For the purposes of retaining my sanity I'm going to believe this falls into the 5% bucket of dodgy info. Minimum wage for a top 30 player in Oz is just under 62 thousand pounds. Now, I'm not saying Miller is at the bottom of that pay scale, but he's certainly not an established 1st grader. I'd have thought something in-between, maybe 125k, might be appropriate, but 250 just seems ludicrous.

Not in a million years is Miller on £260k.
Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.

Believe what you want just going by what I've been told like I say my source has got plenty of things correct over the years so I don't see why he'd be way out of Millers Salary, when leeds when Leeds signed Miller he was an NRL 1st choice fullback at Newcastle it was only 2nd half of 2023 season when he lost his place to Ponga again after they switched him back to full back, he may have only been playing in the NRL for 2 or 3 years but he still racked up some appearances so I doubt he's as cheap as some of you may think.

Well he's here and we are paying him what we are paying him, so no point worrying about it now. The only reference I can find to Millers NRL wages is a article referencing 500k in Aussie dollars over 2 years. That seems about right to me. Has your source heard any names re a prop to replace Sangare?
Miller wouldn't have been anywhere near the top echelon of NRL full backs when we signed him, and by the time we came in for him he wasn't playing regularly.
That's not to say we aren't overpaying him BTW, I've no idea. Given the state of our squad over a number of years with assurances that we're right at the cap, he cannot be the only one who is/was being paid way too much.
