They should let RU take him. The ARU are in a financial mess. One decent player isn't going to make any difference.

Joseph Suali’i will be the best player in the world within 3 years, he’s never playing SL for anyone.

Given what I’ve seen of the Centres on show, I’d not be interested in MacDonald, Lanai on the other hand…

I could see his upright running style causing him a few issues in RU.

Yes we should send our 19 year old superstar over to Rugby Union, what a ridiculous response, they’re clearly not in such a financial mess if they can offer league players $10M contracts.

Union can afford to offer Suaalii this because of all the money their International game generates. Yet we have fans complaining left right and centre when we price ours from £25 for World Cup fixtures, claiming our World Cup tickets are too expensive and should be £5/£10. You can’t complain we have no money in our game to keep our best players and also not be willing to put any money into our game.

Leigh have shipped Sam Stone to Salford which probably eases their quota dilemma and may mean MacDonald stays there. Based on his WC showing that may be no bad thing..

No idea whether we are signing him or not but wouldn't rush to judgement on the basis of the WC. He was unfortunate to be playing right centre (not his position anyway) in a PNG team that was almost totally left sided. Didn't see him get a decent pass all tournament. I don't think Stone going to Salford changes things as he'd already been released, but may well be wrong.

Leigh still currently have 8 non-fed players, even when you assume that Lam is getting a dispensation. Asiata, Ipape, Ferguson, Leutele, Amone, O'Donnell, Nakubuwai and Macdonald. I know that Beaumont has come out and said that he thinks he can get around the rules by loaning one of them out every two weeks to a duel reg partner, but that doesnt get around the registration problem on the 1-December. Unless the rules are significantly changing, Leigh still need to get rid of someone...

Fair comments on MacDonald. Wasn't so much a judgement of his abilities, more a reflection of how little involvement he had.

The centre situation is still being explored with even more names in the hat, we have approached Salford for Lafai but are we going to shell out a fee and here’s one for you, Kallum Watkins had a conversation on the a phone with GH, which was witnessed by a colleague of my mate, what a return that would be! No more information on it but there are a lot of meeting going on over the next few days and we are meeting on Thursday afternoon again so I will dig. It still isn’t a no on Nene but reading the current lines you would expect him to stay at Leigh. I asked about the Wigan and Catalans shake up and apparently it’s mainly Catalans who have basically told half their squad they can leave. But they are now throwing the kitchen sink at trying to replace them and approaching multiple clubs to buy players, even Saints were approached for Percival which was a resounding no from all parties. Josh Griffin and Chris Satae were enquired about aswell for huge transfer fees, so that’s what is meant by it. That’s it’s for today guys.

Having had a look at the Giants squad Prop (middle forwards) does seem to be the one position where they are overloaded. Think Oliver Wilson would be far more likely than Matty English though.

Olly Wilson is a good young prop forward
He played for England Academy v Australia Schoolboys in 2018 whilst still at the Bulls so he has good pedigree
