Tindall would be a smaller loss? He's likely fourth choice at best when everyone's fit, assuming Roberts or someone else doesn't jump ahead of him. He played in 13 games this year and may be looking at a lot less next, as he got some games ahead of Briscoe, who was out for a fair while.
Johnson would be a loss, but he needs to take his chances when he gets them. I'd be a bit surprised if he left, as he's one of our few other halfback options and two hookers isn't enough in a squad.
Just on Olpherts, Fusitu'a played less than half the games this year and Newman hardly at all. Smith may want Olpherts as an experienced player who may have to play a lot of games. The alternative would be to go with Tindall or someone even less experienced, or to sign a good quality player who might only play half a season. The latter was probably the assumed route if Hardaker stayed, with him and Olpherts being the experienced backup. I assume signing a centre was always the plan, and the offer to Hardaker reflected that while he's a good player he would have been second choice behind Myler, Newman and the new centre if everyone was fit.

The swap deal is a young player who wants more game time for a experienced player, no names or positions given as it should be announced next week. I did ask who is getting the better deal and he is really adamant we are, so fingers crossed I suppose. Centre wise apparently we are still in for Nene Macdonald and it could be announced next week, but there could be a twist he said lol. Very cryptic today, not really sure what I’m taking from this. I will update again on Sunday.

If Tetevano comes back and plays like he did in the second half of last season I am ok with him seeing out his contract and think he can be an important player. Obviously we are overpaying for what we have got in return but since smith came in he has cut out the nonsense plays much bigger minutes and looks a lot fitter. With 2 impact props incoming plus Holroyd returning I see him more as a hard running back row next year.

Agar described both Gannon and Levi Edwards a potential generational talents. It's clear how good Gannon could be, but do others rate Edwards as highly? Not seen enough of him to know, but I'm sure the club wouldn't let him go if that were the case...

Fair to say I don't think he's a big upgrade and that he will stifle the opportunities other younger players get. I do not understand signing him, he will expect to play otherwise he wouldn't have left Cas, and I just don't think he's a great winger and has no relevant experience in other positions.
I'm sure he thinks the sun shines out of my ar53...
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.
