Talk of playoffs just sounds very out of tune to me. The clinging hopes have been spoken about for weeks while we've turned in poor performances. Going by Smith's mantra all talk should be just on playing better, I doubt theres a supporter left that's thinking 'ooh we've still got a chance'.
I honestly think the whole club and players would do better not making the play offs this year; having a decent mental and physical break, and then preparing for the mother and father of all pre-seasons for 2024.
Of the entire squad, I think Cam Smith has been generally outstanding this year, Tommy Holroyd has put a shift in although looks tired now, Martin has been solid playing out of position, and James McDonnell has been the find of the year. Other than that I can't think of a single player who doesn't need to show some improvement.
As for this game it's anyone's guess what result we'll get but I wouldn't dismiss a hiding again, our current team is decimated.
Of course the players should be talking about getting in the play offs while it’s still possible, odds are slim and I don’t think it will happen. But not believing they can make the player is an absolute loser mentality.
I'd have to disagree. Talk is cheap sometimes and we've heard many soundbites over the recent weeks and still been 'losers' I don't think not mentioning playoffs is about loser mentality. I'm not talking about saying they can't win the game in hand. All opinions I just think it sounds out of tune with where the real focus will be.
Edit- actually, I've just checked the table and as well as beating cats and Cas, salford and Warrington not winning, we're also looking at closing a 50+ points gap, it's not just out of tune, it's ridiculous.
Ugh starting line up looks as good as it could get but I’m still concerned this will be Wigan2… just remember this side has 3-4 teenagers in it before we have all the hate later. Sure the lads will do their best.

Your words of reason are no match for the Trollpocalypse.
I think most are pretty forgiving and understanding of where the young players are at, its seeing more senior players give needless penalties, caugh the ball up with unforced errors, throw blind offloads out, kick out on the full or are soft in contact with or without the ball.

Just me being negative then. Right lads 18pt win today (I know dimebag Derrell is playing but hear me out) then into next week for a 40 point win, job done (and not ridiculous at all).
