He just has a lot of development to do still as a back row let alone a half. I think he needs to consolidate those skills right now otherwise it could be detrimental to his future in the game.
I've stopped watching the RS interviews. He says nothing of any consequence and is so guarded in his plans that there seems like very little point listening to him at all

The MG at halfback trial isn't really about him being a viable halfback option, it's about improving his handling so he becomes a Worldie in every aspect of back row play.
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

I hope that is the plan though RS intimated something a bit different.

I can see Tindall/Olpherts getting a spot on the wing and Handley at full back. I just think we’ve seen enough of Olpherts to know where he’s at and Tindall is leaving anyway. Hooley currently still an unknown quantity at this level.
