Agreed. If he has Actually signed for Saints and I was in his shoes I’d be saying I’m happy to stay at Saints, I will however talk to other clubs once you have paid me compensation.

Maybe Saints were interested. Had talks with Dwyer and his reps. Said there's things to confirm first (Roby retiring) but he's their first choice. Roby is having a change of heart and rather than leave Dwyer hanging (and potentially out of a job) they've done the decent thing and said for him not to wait around for them
