We do have a great crop of youngsters and I don’t think the team is as bad as tonight but something isn’t right and it needs to change I think, I’ve always said if the team play with pride and passion i can forgive losses and the odd beating but im getting to the point where enough is enough, the players have to take some responsibility but so does Agar and to be fair to him i think he will
I think you are right about your youngsters coming through however, I don't think your recruitment has been up to scratch.

Hopefully GH recognises that we can't let it drag on like we did with Furner. If he wants to turn things around this season he needs to act now.
The squad has issues, but if we got a quality coach in things would change a lot. I understand that some of our supposedly weaker players aren't the worst, but I think that's probably because some of our better players aren't even trying.
I reckon Sezer may well have realized he was sold a lemon on joining Leeds. He was no doubt impressed by Headingley and talk of ambition etc. But then he's seen what he's playing with and perhaps not surprisingly he may be one of the senior players self-sabotaging the team. We'd all prefer him and others to show 'fight' - but he and Austin are in their 30s and Leeds is probably their last big gig.
So many issues with the squad are self-inflicted. Lack of big props has been a problem for several seasons, and this obsession with 'middles' keeps getting shown up as utterly flawed. If we'd made props a focus and not signed King last year and signed and re-signed Thompson our pack could look entirely different.
Re-signing hacks has been a constant problem, as it smacks of no ambition. And in some roles young players aren't given proper chances while championship-standard players keep getting picked. Does anyone think some of the other players can't see these things?
We all know the definition of madness is to keep doing the same and expecting different results. Sadly Agar is in the vortex of bad results leading to conservatism leading to more bad results.
Sezer was sold on the salary. I don't blame him, I blame the guy who offered it to him.

Gus Gould spoke about this some time ago - it just gets to the point where clubs have no choice but to change the coach. I hope Agar has the chance to move upstairs with some dignity, but even then he needs to acknowledge that some of the gaps in the squad are down to the fact he hasn't pushed for certain things - like quality props. Problem is many more displays like this and moving upstairs might cease to be an option.
Prior and Tetevano are OK but not enough. Last year we signed King and re-signed Thompson. Pointless signings. That's the lack of quality I'm talking about - genuine props, not pumped up slow second rowers.
In 2017, the last time we competed we had Garbutt, Cuthbertson, Singleton, Mullally, Galloway and Ormonroyd. Six genuine props of varying standard (plus Baldwinson and a very young Oledzki), and we survived losing Galloway mid-way through the season because we had a proper rotation.
Agar has been coach since 2019, and will have been involved in all recruitment decisions since 2020. He has consistently banged on about middles and clearly not prioritised what most of us would recognise as actual props. So we don't have enough, and the ones we do have are on the small side as a group.
He’s got to go imo. It’s simply unacceptable. We are one dimensional and the players aren’t performing for him. As we all said we’re a big prop light and it’s biting us in the booty.
Whilst totally understanding and accepting a lot of the comments i will say last night wasnt a coaching, tactical or even selection issue. The attitude and effort on show from the players from minute 1 was nowhere near acceptable and they are responsible and accountable for that.
I understand tho that Agar is responsible for performances.
Ive no idea but i do wonder how much coaching he does these days or if Long and JJB do most of it.
I know if i was a player and JJB started waffling on i would turn off quickly. He was a great servant but i just cant listen to him personally.
Hetherington’s not going to sack Agar. Simply not going to happen because they are family. He’s not going to sack a member of his own family so the best we can hope for is for Agar to walk away or a move upstairs.

There has been too little ambition in new signings. Losing Gale should oy have been done to bring someone else in. It's clear we needed a prop, and whilst you need the likes of Thompson in a squad, you should use to cover issues, not be regular. We don't have enough props as we're not far off first choice pack, and still look lightweight

The thing is, bar bringing a player or two in we are stuck with our squad of players- for this year at least. Now I do not think the team put out last night was as bad as last night shows, so unfortunately for Agar that means he’s the only thing we can realistically change at this point.
Yes we are a prop or two light, but so are Warrington and they haven’t or wont put in a performance like that this season.
What do we do though, is there anyone available? Ward has just taken a job in RU, is there anything to suggest Long can step up for the rest of the year?
Tony Smith is out of contract next year at Hull KR, could that be an option, I doubt he’d want the job though.
Im at a loss to be honest to suggest what needs doing.

We look poorly coached Chris. That;s what needs to change. Agar has served a purpose and has done a decent job all in all. He turned the ship around but he's not capable of taking us back to where we should be. We need a quality head coach coming in and sharpish.
