The instances where a Leeds player makes his debut, is subsequently released (or chooses to leave more accurately) and at some point returns to play 1st grade again are exceedingly rare.

I'd go along with Emma's suggestion of Mercer being the last example. He's the only player during the SL Era that I can think of (apart from Dean Bell's one off appearance in '96.)

It's something Leeds don't really do and I'd be amazed to see Feather return to Headingley.

Did any of the Keighley contingent fall into this category? Before Mercer I know, but that's about the only other scenario I can think of.

Simon Irving was one of the Keighley mob but he didn't play any 1st grade second time around with the club.

Simon Irving was signed in the keighley deal but never made a 1st team apperance 2nd time around.

It would need to be a 'big unit' to manage it these days with a bit more aggression than our ex-player.
