As good as the CEO has been hes not in touch with todays game and to be fair to Smith he was lumbered with a team of back up coaches that were not his own people. Notwithstanding that other than cleansing the squad he has done nothing in the last 18 months personally to convince that he is going to improve performance. This season has to be written off and start planning for next year. The new coach should be allowed to bring a full coaching team with them and let's see if our playing roster is as good as some think as we have minimal scope in our salary cap.
We badly need some leaders in our team and this should be a consideration with our recruitment.

He may have cleansed the squad but has he improved it - which players he has brought in would get a game at Wigan, Saints, Catalans or Warrington?

Would Frawley, Miller, Mom, Lisone, Fasitua get a game at any other SL team Cas/London apart?

That seems tgeres a more deep-rooted problem to me.

The Agar appointment was a stop gap and cover over Covid - so not quite the same. Your point is still valid. This is a club that spends all its time looking back not forward - Saints will be same if they continue as they are.

Smith was a poor appointment but perhaps all that was prepared to come over to the club after the Furner debarcle.

While the rest of the sport will laugh, the truth is that Rugby League needs Leeds Rhinos to be a lot, lot better than this. Shameful.

Agree mate. Shocking. We reflect the coach imo

Did his hamstring in the first 30 seconds of his second game in the cursed right wing spot

Definitely lacking in serious leaders this team as someone said above. Needs to be put right in recruitment. I watched cam smiths pre game chat with Rob Oates on Thursday and he fills me with no confidence, he looked awkward and spoke poorly. We’re desperately in need of a JP

Thought Sky's highlight of Newman lying on the floor then slowly walking back whilst Saints were celebrating scoring a try highlighted the attitude that seems to be creeping into some Leeds players.

The low point for me was seeing Leeds players laughing and joking with opponents that had hammered them right after the final whistle. Luis Roberts was having a good old laugh and chinwag for a couple of minutes with one particular player, a terrible look for the club and confirmation that a lot of these lads are simply here for a pay cheque. There seems to be no real passion for the club within the majority of this current bunch, and I’ve never seen a more fractured group of players in my life. People talk about “the rebuild” well guess what, this current rebuild needs to be razed to the foundations and started again with a whole new group of players. I won’t be giving another penny to Hetherington till these contracts run down and he gets some players that are invested in the club and the shirt. McDonnell gets a pass, he was the only one that looked like he was hurting last night and prepared to do something about it.

Carrying a head that big is burden - can't be expected to do the hard work. Perhaps his dad will come out and blast Wilkin for highlighting this. Can't show Harry's weaknesses he is a delicate flower.

In the first half claiming a try when he clearly knew it was over the line - trying to cheat the ref!!

Not watched the game but don’t need to as seen it all before.

Since march 18 when Brian McD took a side to win at Saints, we have played 18 matches v Saints, won 1 ( last year Blake Austin. Drop goal) and lost 17. No wins at home.

This is long term systemic failure by Hetherington.

We are struggling badly but we have not been able to compete with the best side for a very long time.

The good news is that Saints won’t beat us again until February 2025 at the earliest.
