We have the skill and ability but lack the intensity, passion and desire.

And watching the likes of HKR and Leigh, that can count for a lot.

Newman us a talent but is overrated, someone wants to have a word with him, he can go on yo be one if the best, or an irritating twerp along the likes of Jake Connor.

No inside knowledge just a gut feeling.

He is constantly moaning at either the ref or his own players and without doubt has the talent but needs to stop believing all the hype and get his head down and play the game.

Like someone else said he could soon become the next Jake Connor.

My feeling is he will go to the NRL or possibly Union.

Don’t think he’s done enough to get that type of gig, so he might get a shock if he does want out!

I also think Newman could be in the NRL next season if he stays fit.

Problem is that our 3/4's rarely do well over there (with the very odd exception).

Their pool are bigger, more athletic and more skillful.

He has the athleticism for the NRL. But you’re right about the player pool. Even if he started ok his injury record would mean he’s one injury away from being replaced.

Just don’t think he’s at that level yet. He's way off in terms of temperament and still some way to go in terms of skill. SL is the best place for him at the moment.

Mainly due to injuries but when has he ever strung 3 or 4 good games together ?

We were poor for 80% of the game, very few bright moments, loads of dumb ones , Bentley Austin,Newman etc .

Playing Martin at centre doesn’t work he is too slow and makes many mistakes.

No leadership on the field and Austin and Hanley were falling out for most of the second half .

Cameron Smith did nothing but stayed on when they could of kept O’Conner on who at least tried to make an impact in defence.



Listend to post match comments from Rohan who complained about the slow play the ball, maybe they should of planned for that speed instead of whinge afterwards.



I thought Smith was a great appointment but the team needs to start performing.

We are Losing supporters and future generation supporters rapidly , even loyal ones who went through the crap of the eighties . Our away following is now shocking on the back of numerous seasons of garbage . I know the Challenge cup early rounds are not well supported but i bet we are not far off outnumbered by Wigan .

FWIW I don't think he's good enough for the NRL.

He's a far better prospect than Leeming.

And how many SL games had Tom and George Burgess played before they moved to the NRL?

We ate not getting hammered in games (bar warrington) a couple of good wins and confidence can make a world of difference.

Reading this forum and twitter you would think we are Wakefield, I get it we Fans are passionate and care but I like to try think a bit more rationally, I didn’t used to and it just wound me up too much, I’ve learned to not over think it, and not let any weeks win or loss cloud my judgement over all.

I admire your loyalty Chris and I know you agree there`s lots for Smith to fix.

We should have a captain on the pitch and one who can voice his authority and stop the bickering between team mates and get them to stick to the game plan assuming we have one.

There`s no intensity until we are out of the game and don`t want embarrasing.

The ill discipline comes from making mistakes and sheer frustration.

No pressure on the kicker is basic stuff and must only come from the coach`s instruction along with the passive defence we now practice.

Maybe a mixture of naïve coaching and on going mistakes on the pitch.

But if we don`t fix it soon we will 100% be nowhere near the play offs imo.

Exactly, you can overanalyze everything but ultimately if you keep dropping the ball early in the count which we must have done at least 6 times you are going to be chasing games.



Seeing quite a bit of criticism of Newman who should have done better with the pass into touch but overall he was our best player last night.

Newman was easily our best player last night he wasn’t far off being the best player on the pitch, his late hit however was stupid.

Yeah, it was. There could be a few cited at the panel but we will see. Bentley had a more positive game also. I actually thought we looked better with CJ on. I like JOC but he didn't have his best game.
