Well I’m meeting up with match day management on Monday. Collectively till then we should all come up with a fool proof plan to prevent an embarrassment.

It won't be a good advert for the game next week if the BBC microphones broadcast that particular song over the airwaves.

I think the main problem with getting this message across is you don’t want to come across as her -

Image

If any of you think I’m wanting burly stewards closing up on you because you’ve sang a song that’s not along the lines of a “family game song” then your wrong as I’m a massive believer in free speech and do what the hell you want.

But what I do want to do is promote healthier banter that will in the long term hopefully replace offensive chants like that above. But if you don’t want to stop singing these songs after people have encouraged your not to then no hard feelings. All I can do is encourage more friendlier banter but I won’t and can’t force it!

Ah Americans.

I won’t say no more to avoid giving myself further embarrassment on these boards!

What chants do you want to get rid of?

I agree the "when I was just a little boy" song is a bit harsh but most of the others I don't see a problem with.

If you wanted to get rid of any chants directed at another team you would run the risk of the atmosphere becoming boring.
