Having a 70 year old CEO means a business should be thinking about succession planning but even if we haven’t it’s a 10-12 million pound business it’s not that complicated to run. Oates does the corporate stuff, there is a failing hotel and the rugby side to make good decisions on.
If GH was taken seriously ill tomorrow, someone would come In and run it. Look at the majority of the people running the RFL and other clubs, many are not impressive. I’m sure caddick will have an executive in business who could Run it easily. The key is also getting an good rugby man in.
I’ve got no issues with GH moving aside but it’s got yo be a managed process with someone so important to the club.

Our squad at the start of the season probably wasn't good enough to challenge at the top of the table, but it was better than the rubbish we have served up this season. Would a different coach have got better performances out of this squad? I believe so. The end of our play off chances isn't down to today's performance . It is due to our half arssed start to the season, which never truly got going.
Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.
We’ve git spanked today because we don’t have a first grade half back and our side is sloppy, disorganised and error-prone. We constantly put ourselves under pressure unnecessarily and fail to make the other side work. In the heat of today we got gassed and then the floodgates open.

Well that was fun! Only Fusitua and McDonnell earning a 5/10 with others scoring much less for me. No structure, weak tackling and no planned moves. Like I said on another topic we need at least half a dozen new signings with at least 3 of quality otherwise we will not make next years play offs again. We are saying Smith inherited the bulk of this seasons squad and it will take time for him to get it right. Out of interest what was the squad like last year when we made the GF compared to this year (ins and outs)? Was our squad so much better last year compared to this?
You could equally ask whether a really rubbish coach could have taken that poor squad to a GF?
Really impressed with RS post match presser today. I know he polarises opinion on here but that’s a mature response, he’s not hanging teenage players on the line and some real honesty about where we are at.
Still has my backing into next season; but no excuses not to be in a play off position and much more competitive in 2024.

Thought the same about his presser, seemed honest and measured.
He has my backing but i agree we have to be much much better next season, hopefully we don’t have as much disruption

That is where the issues lie because either we get bad value for money or other teams are spending way over the cap (saints, wire, wigan? catalan?). maybe both...
To think this squad is at the cap limit on a par with other clubs spending is embarassing...
