I think the Rhinos have probably got the best currently available person for the role. I think Rohan has a chance to retain his job with some better performances from the team. But, I’m glad that there is a more dynamic and hard faced person to hold Rohan and the team to account. The new SD will want to understand the various odd aspects of recent playing style ( wouldn’t we all ! ). If only we could get access to those conversations between the new SD and Rohan…

Blease won't stand for it because his job will also be on the line. That's been part of the problem under GH for the last few years, as we seem to be permanently stuck in the afterglow of the Golden Generation, with far too little focus on making winning the number one priority.

And that is spot on. I`m not into this well we played really but we keep losing rubbish. It`s all about winning and sport is a business that needs results. We can play with flair once we start winning and grinding out results over a sustained period of time. I really do think Blease will expect Smith to deliver.

I liked what I heard yesterday, especially about leaving the Golden generation gubbins in the past and instead create a new culture and new stories etc. Its also great that weve finally got someone from outside the club to come in and cast fresh eyes on the playing side.
“You see all these trophies the golden generation won? Well, stick em in the bin because they were all won by bloomin cheating”.

I think Blease looks a good appointment - anyone who takes decision making off GH is a move forward when it comes to the playing side.
It looks to me like RS's days are numbered. GH has form on this, he did it when he brought Agar across to "assist" Furner. Different scenario but similar MO, bringing someone in to apply pressure to the coach. Blease was non-committal about Smith. He talked about identity, I reckon he's read this forum and there are some semis.
The performance side of the club clearly needs a thorough review, and with a fresh pair of eyes. Whether Blease can replicate some "success" at Leeds remains to be seen, I think Salford and Leeds are very different propositions with different pressures and dynamics. I'll reserve ultimate judgment until I see what kind of signings and retention business we do. But cautiously optimisitc.

Yeah GH was as usual trying to put a positive spin on things but it was nonsense imo. With rubbish excuses like that you can see why we’ve been poor these last few seasons. On the other hand I very much liked what Blease had to say and how he went about it.
