This "Marquee" tag massively skews fans expectations in what we are getting as a player. Tetevano played off the bench, in world class side at the Panthers. He knew what his role was and he did it well by all accounts. He comes over hear and suddenly he is expected to make 200 metres a game, lead the pack and be the toughest prop in the league. Agar made a lot of noise about his very presence setting a new standard in training. It's a lot of pressure to play with and I think some of his discipline issues may have been linked to his trying too hard. Hopefully he can just get his head down, play his natural game, and give the kind of contribution he did at the Panthers. He did very well at Warrington. Maybe next time we have marquee money we spend it on one of the spine positions and add some flair and pace. We'll always be underwhelmed if we spend big money on props.

The whole ‘marquee’ thing is a load of rubbish really. Some wild storm idea pushed through by Koukash who knew nothing c about RL! It doesn’t matter what a players getting paid, yea if difference does it make to fans? We should just judge each player on their merits…..

Regardless of his position i’d still expect a marquee player ie one of the top 3 paid players at the club, to be at the least top 3-4 players in his position in the league, he isn’t even top 3-4 forwards in the Team. Yes Marquee is relevant to position and what you expect from that position. But 2 years in and he’s had maybe 2 good games no great games no games where he is the best in his position on the field . He’s maybe not the big 150-200 meter muncher a game player but he needs to be 100-120+ every week a dominant defender, and regularly the too 2-3 forwards in the field. He needs to produce much much mire every week and stop getting banned. The performance on a Friday needs to be minimum every week.Thompson and Donaldson both out played him still on Friday.

You can expect whatever you want. But the reality is that there is no guarantee of any of these things……

then the reality is he should be told to step up or out, we could sign 3 players with his money and 2 props who could do more for less money.
Tetavano has been a huge disappointment and poor value regardless of marquee/money or otherwise, one above average performance won’t change that, he should he challenged to step up a level going forward.
Not getting too carried away just yet. We managed to beat an underperforming wire side this week, next week we are travelling to Huddersfield, a team playing hot and full of confidence. I don’t expect to win but will be happy if the performance is good and we manage to stay in the game till the end
I imagine Smith will want to see how the team perform under pressure. If Wire had scored a couple of their early chances we'd previously have fallen apart like Wire themselves did once we got on top. I imagine he won't have got too carried away yet.
Probably the most interesting thing was that we looked very smooth in attack with Myler at halfback. That's a huge positive.

I’m not saying he’s worth the money, but If the club decide to hand out 3 year contracts on marquee money, then unless the player wants out there’s nothing they can do,,….
