Well I didn`t see that coming. Not one weak link in what was a masterclass by RS both in defence and attack. Considering the players we had out it was a very very good performance against a decent Wigan side. Said all along O`Connor as back up hooker and if he can get his passing right he will slot in nicely. The issue is we have Johnson who I bow to the experts that he will be a good un. I personally have not seen it yet but there`s time. Thought Aydin and Mustapha were solid enough. Only disappointment was Handley who I thought would out pace Marshall. But overall he did brilliantly.

You guys seemed to have turned a corner under Smith. Good game plan, Myler kept it simple at half back.
Looking forward to seeing Newman in the World Cup.
Leeds will finish 6th!
Certainly have bud. We're a way off challenging yet but we're back heading in the right direction. if we get the front row sorted we'll be up there next season imo.

No doubt. We're still a bit erratic (that's down to a few of the playing roster not being good enough to enable us to challenge for trophies) . Heading in the right direction though..

Very good all round performance - O'Connor was excellent in his spell. Should have been more but for the Martin brain explosion in the first half. They showed how to blunt the effectiveness of French and Field. Thought all the forwards really put a stint in and deserved the outcome.
My concern is Newman - fantastic talent, amazing athlete but he needs to temper his attitude. He seems very hyped up all the time - that cannot be a good thing.
Hopefully that is the last we will see of Smith at 6 and is Handley really that slow?
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Ash is not slow, but neither are field and Marshall.
Running with the ball in hand makes you slower than running without, on the Marshall one Ash actually purposely slows down a bit when Marshall was near him, if he had just have carried on at full tilt he would have got there imo

I thought the same Chris. Just go for it and he might have made it. Marshall is a lot faster than I thought though.
Saints had cunnigham and Roby fir a fair while , so keeping two young players that can play hooker rather than a hooker and fast utility player is much better.
Newman will be hard to keep I think, NRL will come knocking in a year I bet.
Was impressed by O'Connor who I had my doubts about in relation to hooker. He had a few poor passes but to be expected. Hopefully, he has a pre-season sharpening his passing up and he will have good potential for the role.
I think Newman is a man on a mission to play in the world cup and you can see he is desperate to have a big impact in everything he does. I'm sure Rohan will remind him to channel his aggression in the right way so he doesn't harm the team or his chances of playing for Eng.
