| At 31 years old and 32 by next April it's going to be hard to see him shift too much weight. Whether with us or a new club I can see a move to prop as likely. Could actually do a very good job there most likely.

I reckon if we used him in short bursts he could be the impact second rower we've been crying out for. He doesn't suit the grafting game McDermott expects from our starting second row and we could make good use of his offload game against tired bodies.

Anybody can lose weight, the first step is eat the right kind of food, then do the right kind of training/excersise. Not certain if ferres is a drinking man but usually when you see a relatively young man pile on weight beer is involved. If not junk food or a combination of both. Which brings me back to the rhinos conditioning team what is the input of them in this situation.
To me ferres seemed a good signing and played well until his injury. Ref his injury, perhaps I missed it somewhere but I was not aware of the nature of his injury. I read that it did not allow him to train but did not stop him from playing .

| Can't believe what I just read. Early 30 year olds can't lose weight.

You didn't read that, I didn't say he couldn't I said it'll be hard and it will be. Most early 30 years old don't take the punishment RL bodies take and carrying knocks and injuries and the older players do find it tough to train the next few days after games. Not saying he couldn't shed s few pounds but realistically he's not going to shift too much now I'd say.

| I'm 33 (today) and play rugby, made a few changes to my diet since January and dropped from 205lbs to 180lbs. I still eat effectively what I want, but it's all around hitting your Fat, Carb and Protein Macro's. So today for Dinner, it is Hunters Chicken, loads of melted cheese, but it fits into my day. The weight is falling off. So someone telling me a full time SL player, a year younger than me cannot do it when I have done the above, makes me laugh

Do you play SL level rugby and in the forwards (guessing not if you're down to around 12st) and suffered the injuries Ferres has in the last 3 years? Again didn't say he couldn't lose any weight but realistically he ain't going to lose much.

| I think it is very hard to get the right example into players for weight and conditioning, when you only have to look at our conditioner who is preaching to them. Was not as bad as that in his hey day as the best around, until he became complacent with his role.
But Ferres will struggle to lose the weight full stop, as long as he is continually on the pish with certain players.

| We found another target of someone who has helped bring lots of success to this club to abuse, belittle and slander now?
Such amazing gratitude

I reckon Nigel Wood must have been conditioning Ferres.

You can't always judge a book by it's cover chapylad
Some other examples of overweight porkers that don't set very good examples
Toni Minichiello coach and conditioner of Jess Ennis
Glen Mills coach and conditioner of Usain Bolt
Not sure if either of the above coaches/conditioners proved successful or not?
