Just up from the Islamabad was the sadly-missed Theo's Charcoal Grill, a purveyor of the finest 'real' kebabs you could hope to taste. Think it's an Ainsley's now.
Also up that road was that off license that used to sell beer in pint pots to get around the licensing laws. You had to stand on the street and drink it (sold for consumption off the premises), but it was as close to the continental "al fresco" lifestyle as we got in Leeds in the 1980's
It was the only place to get a pint between 3pm and 5.30pm.
