| Max Simpson and Morgan Gannon have only just turned 20, talk of binning them off due to injuries so early on in their careers is just daft, they’ll hardly be making a dent in the salary cap.

| Tepai Moeroa Coming to SL, played under Brad Arthur before.
Wonder if we’re in for him?

Looking at his stats it wouldn't surprise me, seemed to average 20 games per year under BA so looks like he trusted him.
Good sized prop, previous experience in the back row, and about the age we'd probably be looking at given our youngish pack

If we are in for him I hope he's a "real" prop - the article says [iMoeroa was a starter at second-row or loose-forward for a number of years under Brad Arthur at Parramatta Eels[/i
Not familiar with him but I see he is in the Melbourne Storm Grand Final 22 man squad (although probably unlikely to play) so hopefully a decent player.

| Quote ocdstephen="ocdstephen"It was interesting to hear Sam Tomkins (yes, I know) talking of how being away from playing for 8 months gave his 'career-ending' knee injury time to recover, before he returned to Catalans. His point was, that when injury strikes, the emphasis is to get that player back ASAP and the injury doesn't truly recover as a result. Not sure if that's relevant to Gannon and Holroyd but if it is, they may return fighting fit, as Broadacres hopes.'"
I'm not sure whether that is accurate. I've given my body 35 years to recover from playing & it feels like shoite.

| If Leeds signed him as our premier prop next season then I would seriously consider not renewing my season ticket next year. I'm not expecting a JWH or anything but he is not the answer. Hardly played NRL since 2019

Probably because he was playing Rugby Union for two years.

What's he's been doing last 3 and a half years then. Melbourne have a great system but they don't have the best forward pack by a long stretch and he can't get in that squad.

If we have signed him, lets hope its not a case of getting somebody just slightly better than what we already have, as its not exactly a high bar.

I don’t know as I don’t watch much NRL these days.
He’s not even been linked with us properly so you don’t need to write him off just yet, maybe wait til he’s actually signed but not pulled on a jersey before doing that.
But in general the days of any SL club signing top rate first choice NRL players in his age bracket are long gone.

| Assuming we can't sign megastars from the NRL we'll have to trust that Arthur knows who will go well in SL.

| There needs to be some understanding of what players are realistically going to be available from the NRL in terms of potential incoming forwards to Leeds. Along with half backs props command the biggest salaries in the NRL. As such the ones available will be one of the following. Top quality 33-35 years old looking for one last challenge or pay day Eg Burgess and JWH.
Young not played much in NRL looking to build career and get an NRL contract. Eg Tom Amone.
Late 20 early 30s not a first choice starter but played decent number of games looking for 3 year contract and more game time.
Leeds should be in for either of the second 2 and its then its about selecting the right players with the attributes that you need.
