To be honest it’s a hard question to ask because a number have thrown shocks in.
Fusitua, MacDonald, Tetevano, Sangare, Holroyd, McDonnell have all been superb this year. O’Connor has carried on where he left and is going to be one of the best 9s in league in years to come.
Ruan impressed in pre season but the opportunity in the league hasn’t come to him yet.
If we have a good draw in the Cup I'd hope Ruan would get a shot. Its hard to see who he'd displace when we're at full strength, although I would hope he could get ahead of Donaldson in the pecking order fairly quickly.
I think Sezer is getting better, hope he can carry on the upward curve. Austin looks fit and is having an impact. If these 2 keep improving it will have a big impact on our game
Interesting comments on another thread about 'bad' signings. Yet for the most part people agree that Macdonald, Sangare and McDonnell are an improvement on what we had before. Roberts wasn't signed to be a starter, and we haven't seen Ruan, Warren or Hooley yet.
The most disappointing are Lisone and Olpherts. Olpherts seems to have developed a habit for clangers at the worst possible time. This does seem to be something new though - while not maybe looking like a world beater at Cas I don't remember him doing this there? Lisone has been a bit underwhelming so far, and needs to get fit to make an impact. But he does look like he can be the kind of wrecking ball forward we need if he gets fit.
I'd say the most disappointing players as a whole are the ones who've been around since before Smith. Myler has played maybe a game and a half of quality out of five, Sezer probably less than that. Austin tries hard but is such a limited player in terms of ability. Fusitu'a has generally been a letdown, and Tetevano now looks like an average overseas forward. Which would be fine if he weren't a marquee player.

Out of our new signings Sangare has been the most impressive for me he's exactly what we've missed in our pack for a number of years now bends the opposition defensive line and gets some great offloads away he's fit in & seems very settled.
Ruan was very impressive in pre season with some great performances but hasn't had his chance yet in Super League but I'm sure his time will come.
Macdonald has had some very classy touches in games and I think he will only get better if/when the team is more settled later in the season.
Mcdonnell is getting a run I the team and looks steady in our back row. Hooley & Warren have had disrupted starts but both getting game time in reserves and will get opportunities when times right.
Olpherts & Lisone have been disappointing/ underwhelming for me Olpherts has made some big blunders already in only 5 Super League games hopefully he can sort that part of his game out but when/ if we have a fully fit backline I don't see him getting in team. Lisone has looked unfit like many have said and struggles to do more than one stint of 15-20 mins Max a game which isn't ideal in the modern day game he needs to sort out match fitness because again when/ if we have a first choice pack he'll struggle for game time if he continues the way he is.
Smith, O'Connor & Walters have been our best from the players we had prior to this season, all other players have been pretty 'Meh or poor performers, however we have just completed round 5 and there is plenty of rugby to be played yet so we shouldn't judge players performance to much til round 10 or so but some players do need to start performing to warrant a future at the club.
