Unfortunately Mathers is a shadow of his former self whether this is down to confidence or injuries or that he's at a club that seems not to really want him. I suspect it's a combination of all.
So to answer Emma's question it would be a no go for me.

Given Warrington's chronic fullback problem, could he go there save their massive salaries and the risk of them exceeding the cap to land him ?

If so it would probably have to be swap deal as I can't see Warrington having the cap space.

Absolutely not.
Mathers at his best was still no where near as good as Webb or Smith at fullback.
He had his qualities to the team, which sadly seem to have diminished now. But no way should we go back there.

I'd bring him in on a contract that suited us. His confidence is shot at the moment and it wasnt helped by a softcock Wigan pack not doing their job.
The fekwitted Wigan fans didnt seem to notice that last year though.
Who says he has to play full back anyway. He could be used as a utility and is capable of filling in at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
