He used to wear a scrum cap, and he used to get more head injureies when he wore it. Since he's ditched it, he's picked up fewer head injuries

7, no I've no idea really.

I think the scrum cap is better than nothing and might cushion the impact with the ground. At one time they were a fairly common sight in the game. The danger is players getting lazy with their technique and putting their head in places it ought not to be.

I'm not 100% convinced that it was a penalty for the tackle.

Seemed pretty fair to me, and should've been 'Play On'. Getting smashed to the ground is what happens with 'Hospital Passes'

The season starts in October. Until then, don't panic!

Not in Rugby League it wasn't.

Watmough hit Burrow in the head, no ifs or buts about it. Straight on smash with his tricep. As Burrow had just reached up to take Peacock's shocking pass he was about as tall as he gets on a rugby field.

Robinson (unlike most Aussie refs) doesn't appear to ask the video ref for his input when such incidents occur. Given who the video ref was yesterday that could have been interesting.

Good to see Watmough find Burrow at the end of the game and apologise to him.

He's been knocked out more times than Mr Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Just out of interest, if the ref penalised the Manly player for a high shot (and it's not clear he did), then it would surely have been a card of some kind.

Personnaly I don't beleive there was much wrong (although aiming your swinging arm at where a normal sized person's chest is and using it as an excuse for hitting Burrow in the face is not really a defense).

"Well, I think in Rugby League if you head butt someone there's normally some repercusions"

Just like last week when this same referee put Westwood on report (5 matches) but no card, Mogg penalty but no card and Fakir not even a fooking penalty (1 match) let alone a card of some kind?

Like I said last week about Robinson, he's a typical Aussie Referee, anything below the temple is fair game.

But what I seriously don't get is whenever a player is injured in the NRL the referee's almost always uses the breathing space to ask the video referee to at least review what has caused the injury if there's a possibility of foul play.

If Robinson has done this in the last two weeks I must have missed it.

Hope we never see Jason ' Barry Manilow' Robinson again.

I thought it was a fair shot - what was Whatmough supposed to do - he simply ran over Burrow - no swinging arm a hit not unlike a few SBW put on a couple of Leeds players.

The pass was simply appalling - summed up Peacock's contribution tbh ie more of a hinderance than a help last night.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

A tackle around the head is still a tackle around the head regardless of the quality of the pass and should still result in an automatic penalty.
