Cas have reportedly turned down an offer of £300,000 for Denny Solomona who still has 2 years left on his contract, Cas stating he's not for Sale in more ways than one. Today Solomona posted a picture with himself with Sale players playing table tennis which was removed. reports from Sale are that his signing is immanent. Cas just released a statement saying he is still not for Sale and it's know in the hands of their lawyers. rumors are Solomona has retired from Rugby league so Sale can sign him for no transfer fee, if this is true and is legal then any league player can be signed by Union at anytime for no fee? |

I think we will have to wait and see what Sale come up with first. We are obviously resigned to losing him to RU which is not only a shame for Cas tigers but the game as well. If it's a loop-hole that has been exploited all similar doors will be closed for this to happen in the future. I would expect the RFL to be looking into this now but won't hold my breath. |

Love it how all the Cas fans are coming out of the woodwork to say how this is the worst thing to happen to rugby league, whilst forgetting all the other players from other clubs who have walked out. Also all the players from other clubs who have moved to union/nrl for nothing/next to nothing. As a whole they defend the salary cap to the hill. You reap what you sow. Lawyers now involved. Would love to see a legal case involving players, challenging the right for owners of rugby clubs to discuss and vote on the suppression of wages in the industry. Cannot see how it is legal for owners to collude in this way to keep wages low, any other industry in which all the bosses got together and agreed to not raise the wages for ~20 years (not even in line with inflation) would be found to be illegal. |

Well, if he's notified the RFL and CTRLFC of his "retirement", not sure what can be done to stop him signing for Sale. It would be foolish for Cas to not try and get some form of compensation, but technically if the rumours are true would they be entitled to it? |

If he really has gone to the levels of retirement from rugby league then personally i would like to see him banned from the game for a period of time. know it sounds like a terrible thing to do but I think Denny is showing the game no respect whatsoever. He has a contract and he should respect that contract! If it doesn't work out in union he shouldn't have the ability to walk right back into a sport that he has decided to kick through this mud. Retirement from rugby league to cross over to union is low. |

but to play devils advocate, league clubs raided union almost weekly in the 80s and early 90s. doug laughton spent more time in the valleys than he did in widnes. this sort of thing is just the reverse of this now union clubs have big bucks isn't it? |

Perhaps Rangi Chase should be part of your ban too? |
