Another hurdle jumped here :-

Well done to all concerned, Steve Gill and the BOD, everyone at Lateral, Councellor Peter Box and Denise Jeffery, Yvette Cooper and the staff at Wakefield DC, and most of all the fans who have worked tirelessly on the scheme and been patient with the process.

It certainly is. Just glad he led us out at Wembley last year. A great man indeed.

Does this mean its almost a done deal?

As an aside the BBC says the new stadium capacity is 10k. Is that really big enough?

It is to start with. Lets not forget that the initial cost to us is very minimal, if not zero, as it is being funded by Lateral, the developer. The main priority is getting it built. The option to fill the corners in at a later date will enable us to do so in the future to increase capacity, funds permitting. One step at a time. I, for one, would prefer a 10,000 capacity full every home game than to be sat in a half empty 'football stadium' with no atmosphere, ie: Huddersfield. Also, the option of being able to use / hire out the facilities 52 weeks of the year for corporate events etc.. will bring in much more needed revenue

Excellent news. Should be some good crowds at the Jungle next year too as people will want to have last chance to go to what is probably my favourte ground. Will miss it, only ground left that reminds me of Knowsley Road, proper atmosphere there.

Always enjoyed my visits to knowsley road. Was a good atmosphere despite the fact everytime I went bar once we always got spanked!

Well done to all who have made this possible.
When completed, which M62 junction do us visiting fans leave to get to the ground?
Looking forward to it.
Once again, well done to all.
