This weekend's maiden clash with Celtic Crusaders will be the 100th competitive game in charge of Cas for coach Terry Matterson. I decided to take a look back at the career of the Tigers' longest serving coach since Stuart Raper departed almost 8 years ago.

Interesting stuff Stu, thanks for that.

Also congratulations to Terry on his 100th game in charge. There've been good times and tough times but I think Terry deserves praise for the way he's persevered in his role and always appeared to have the club's best interests at heart. It's nice to see Cas playing the classy rugby the club is traditionally renowned for in Super League and he's been a massive part in achieving that after some barran years.

I've never really had a problem with Tez, whenever the bad times have been he's had his reasons behind them. Think he's very under rated as a coach

cracking post stu.gotta admit when we first got him i was very much a 'who is he? Person and didnt instill me with great confidence but cant knock the bloke with job so far.we got relegated in06 without finishin bottom of a league we were expected to be holding up.straight back up the year after.built a team which played some of the most attractive rugby league i ever seen at cas last year despite finishin bottom and so far so great for this season.well done terry i salute you and continue the great work.

To join the admiration society - it's a good read that.

Ta...

For what my opinion is worth (not a lot I know) I think he's a players coach; and has trouble with people who don't take their fitness, bodies and training seriously, becuase as a player he always did - which might explain a few personality clashes!
