Post subject:  We Need Answers

With the Wakey announcement being plastered all over the headlines for RL today its about time we heard from the club as to what state of play we are i with are ground rather than rumours and speculation

We want and demand answers especially as our last two games have seen 9k and 10k gates. We have heard nothing for months.

Agree 100%, the club's lack of communication on this matter is not good for anyone.

Post subject:  Nothing

I have no inside knowledge and don't know anyone connected to the board: BUT;

Considering the largest part of the funding was due to come from a developer of housing buying our existing plot and that currently developments all across the north of England lie half finished both at a commercial and domestic level, I am sure that there is no news to share.

Even the Wakey shopping development which HAS authority backing is standing idle with no likely completion date. Just because Wakey have announced plans, means jack - so have we!

So, I would suggest that the financial and crises in the housing market make it incredibly unlikely the fundaments of our original plan still exist, because I can't imaging any developer looking to take on a multi-million development at the moment......

Unless, we signed a pre-agreement and have a guaranteed value, or the value of our plot was already next to nothing?

Like I said, these opinions only reflect me, not a club insider or anything like that.

But to be fair Wakey have only done what we did 18 months ago and name a site. The council haven't approved anything yet unless I've missed something.

Let's bet honest about it as they've had communication problems in the past.

Do something about it then guys!
Do you have a stadium action group?
SWAG has been a rock for wakefield fans and worked wonders for pushing our project along.
Although i can understand your frustration. I have (like most fans at BV on the whole) been kept out of the loop regarding the progress of our new home. But sometimes it's a good thing. Although not always if your asking for direct council help.

Just read the press release. All that has happened is a proposal. I could propose that I'm going to build a 15 bedroom house with a 50ft swimming pool gym overlooking the wonderful sights of Cas Vegas. Doesn't mean I've got a) the funding b) the planning permission c) the council backing d) my marbles.

As posted above Wakey have done what we did 18 months ago, said we are going to build a stadium. What RW did was to say this is just the beginning and it is a long process. Wakey haven't bothered with that, they've made it sound like they'll be ready to move in next week.

Someone's getting ratty!
Funding will undoubtly be there, Mr Walker doesn't start things he can't finish, you just have to look at his CV and it makes your mouth water if its a new ground your craving!
the council can't say no after giving you provisional permission, and why would they want to? the land is under the same classification as J32 was and look what that has done to Cas!
Finally with the people involved and the economic sway they hold i can't see the WMDC saying anything but "yes please... sir... thank you sir." to the proposal to build something such as this, which will cost the council NOTHING! Mr Box and Co showed their true color's last Oct. Box held us at the end of a rope, and enjoyed it, i have a feeling that he is doing the same to you regarding his involvement wit your project now!
IF Mr Walker had overseen the last attempt i dare say Mr Box would never in a million years have tried the same bully boy tactics.
