WRE wrote:i think your emotions have gt the better of you, i really do. he offered is condolences and said he wanted saints to win as it benefits Cas, which is true. i dont get what you are so upset about. do you think Saints fans will be hoping you beat them because of the tragedy you have been dealt?

i would liek to reiterate my sadness to the loss of such a young RL player but ther eis still a game to be played (as requested by the family) and won, the outcome as the same impact on the league as it would without the targedy so why would oposition fans hope for a different outocme than any other time?

It should not matter about your club doing well out of a game which is all about doing Leon proud. Firstly I want a good game in what would be a great tribute to him after that I would like a win.

Can't believe anyone would want us to get hammerd

Woooooo. Come on folks lets not get carried away - it was an opinion that wasn't framed in an especially offensive manner. Sure it may have been better not said and just thought but it's a free country.

It is still a game and life goes on, Im sure Cas fans want to finish above us, they won't  but they will want too.

Sad thing is in a few weeks Leon will be old news as Adam already is and rightly so life goes on.

Come on Adam what do you expect, Cas fans not to want us beaten because we are still a bit raw about Adam Watene. Don't work like that mate, as Ted Richardson says if we didn't carry on as before you wouldn't dare cross the road.

We can't make too much of this and turn it into a Jade type circus. Statistically Leon is one of hundreds of young men who die every day under all sorts of circumstances. The world doesn't stop for them nor can it stop for Leon. Just because he wore a Trinity/RL shirts does not make him any more important or less than anyone else.

We mourn in a way that is appropriate to each individuals own feelings and move on. You simply can't tell people how to feel.

I think if you can't say the right thing it's probably best to say nowt. If Wakey winning would bring a small shred of solace to the Walker family then screw the league table, I hope they win.

But surely everyone will want a top game of rugby league to pay the perfect tribute to Leon? If we get hammered it won’t be a too good a tribute but as long as it’s a good game with some quality rugby skill on show from both teams then it will be a great tribute to the lad.

Clearly not everyone mate - that's the point, we don't all feel the same about things. To be honest we really all need to separate the Rugby side of this from the emotional before it becomes another (much smaller) Princess Di style circus. Whatever the odd Cas fan things isn't going to make a blind bit of difference to the pain being felt by those who really knew Leon. We need to retain some perspective on this, sad as I am for Leon it won't alter my life in any significant way and I imagine even less so those who are not Trin fans or who don't embrace the game as a whole.

To be honest a game of RL has to be treated as just that, the real tribute is that Leon has clearly left a number of people who will really miss him, and hat is really tribute enough. I don't care what Danny? or WRE think I will attend tomorrow, show my respects and hopefully enjoy a winning performance - it won't quite quite as easy as normal but I will do my best to enjoy my hobby.

Agreed, the comment p!ssed me off a bit.

Just hope we can go out and do not just Leon but the others that are sadly not with us any more. Will be an emotional night, but a night where I will be proud to call myself a Wakey fan.

Really have to be a Saints supporter on Friday and hope they win by a good margin, the points difference will push us above Wakey. Also long term, I think our place in a top 8 play off positions will be influenced more by Wakey than Saints.

Come on you Saints!

I am sat in front of my PC with my Watene wrist band on and a BIG pic Adam looking down on me, i swear blind he's just shook his head and he's watched me read this post.

Let me just remind you that fans all over the country are thinking about Leon and is parents/family and friends, and if a Wakey win helps them in anyway, then thats how it should be.

One day you may be man enough to understand "life" but untill then carry on mate
