The biggest dissapointment over a longer period of time was the lack of any local investment of time / effort, This has improved massively now with some great coaches in place with alot of local knowledge.
My only concern is still a lack of players involvement at local junior clubs i have been involved at townville for 2 years now and havent seen 1 player,
last year we did get a team of coaches for a few sessions but that seems to have stopped again.
Hate to say it but only Leeds seem interested in sending out players to coach(Rob Burrow) and Bradford are trying to tie us up with there setup and even sent Paul Sykes to our presentation evening.
just a few thoughts on the long term junior development in the area

Very worrying.

Especially when it seems our local sides have some cracking young players.

No it doesn't to me either mate. I think one of his big problems when he was with us was his attitude. Always seemed to want to act about with the lads but when it came to knuckling down on a match day (when the going got tought) i always felt he lacked a bit of effort.

Hull KR are knocking around Cas too looking for talent. If we don't watch out we're going to be struggling for second best again.

I'm prepared for lots of "he's in a better team" replies; although I don't think this explains it all:

At Cas he was probably the worst no.9 I've ever seen at the club (and I must say - I was delighted when we signed him); his quality/accuracy of distribution was horrendous whilst his error rate was also dire.

I've fully supported TM ever since he's been at the club, but I'm becoming increasingly disturbed by trends such as this (how we are using Westerman utilises none of his class, instead we are battering him to death and I fear severely damaging his immense potential).
great point mate. i have watched scot train and watched him play and imo there is nothing wrong with his work ethic. the guy is definitely a competitor. when he was at cas, he had the same skills and the same ability, but didn't have a coach to bring it out in him. brown seems to have pushed all the right buttons.

To be fair he's had 3 good games for us and looks very fit. Obviously didn't work out for him at Cas and think it was best for both parties he left, think his hearts always been at Wakey and its showing in his performances so far.

Maybe so but the opinion of Mr Brown is that the Shuddersfield coach has improved Scott Moore, I simply pointed out that he didn't have the same affect on Korki........Mr Browns favourite player in the world ever

If you read Browns quotes re Korkidas then you may have to re-think. Brown was happy with the way he was playing (in the reserves mainly admittedly) but the other props who were established members of the Hudds squad were also playing well in a team that was riding high thus Korki found it difficult to break in to the team. Brown was quoted as saying Korki didn't deserve to be playing reserve team rugby so the loan move benefitted both us and Korkidas.
