It's reported on the Whitehaven Total RL forum that Fax have recalled the two players sent up there. Who the hell decided that was a good idea in't first place? A decision beyond belief but very much in keeping with the shambles that this season is turning into.

All Haven players have downed tools and are refusing to play. Could have massive implications for us in our survival battle if one of the other runners drops out.

Well as we’ve said before it just shows how fragile the situation is.

I know Haven are a second tier club as we are but when long time tough established clubs like them are in real danger of going bust and Fax are at our current level on and importantly off the field what the state the game is in, and we aren’t the only ones by any means.

I mean look at myself for example, not only anxiously looking at how other results are going so we can get away from the drop but looking to see if another club goes bust to see if we can avoid it. :(

On reflection truth is though I’m certain that we all hope Haven can survive and whatever happens to them and us as to if and where were playing next season is decided on the field and not off of it.

Strange that the Haven players are downing tools after beating Donny with just 3 subs.

I agree, with faxcar, I too am looking anxiously at Barrow, Swinton and Haven and gutted that all 3 won, when we should really be looking at Fev, Sheff and Widnes.

Haven got 699 watching them against donny, how on earth are they supposed to survive on such low crowds. The clubs need to get together and stop cutting each others throats, ie Wakey trashing the league by being the only full time club and Bradford inflating players demands making it difficult for others to keep pace. For the good of the game.

Not sure how many Dewsbury got against Barrow and with the highlights camera being as usual in the seating stand couldn’t see the numbers there but no one was at the bottom end, no one was in the standing touchline stand where we go and just a few dozen at the scoreboard end so I expect a few hundred at best.

The days of doing things for the good of the game and RL being the family game are long gone I'm afraid. It's more like each for their own and the law of the jungle. As you may have noticed, i've harped on about dual registration more than enough, but amongst other things DR was always going to contribute to situations like we are seeing with Whitehaven. Indeed, i believe this scenario was always part of SL/RFL's long term plan.

I suppose I was saying "for the good of the game" with tongue in cheek. I don't think any individual club has acted unselfishly. All started with Wigan becoming the only full time club in the late 80s/early 90s and bankrupted Widnes who tried to compete . Taking SKY's money and the ridiculously re-branded "Super League" which will ironically lead to a huge implosion of the sport when SKY eventually pulls the rug.

Conjecture. It sounds to me new/ old board may have said beat Donny there is a bonus for you all. Then of course unexpectedly win.
May be talking out of the proverbial as the new board seems to have upset everyone at the club.

A reasonable assumption, cowfax. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense that Haven put in such a great effort to beat Donny then refuse to play anymore.

Still no sign of the Fax accounts on Companies House with just over a week until the deadline. Thought I'd look at the Giants accounts whilst I was at it, still to file themselves but the 2022 accounts are horrendous. Insolvent to the tune of £19 million, and assuming the huge "related party" creditor is Ken Davy why anyone would want to plough so much money into a RL club is quite insane, especially when it doesn't appear to be appreciated by the fans (just over 3k for their match against Catalans). And why is such a massively indebted club allowed in SL under this absurd IMG system? As I say, SL is a disaster waiting to happen.
