I am really struggling to get enthusiastic for this match, and the players seem to be seriously lacking in motivation too. We need the points badly not just to climb the ladder but to give us a bit of a lift. Surely they have to have some fire in there belly after last weeks dismal effort. Fax by 6.

 I don't see why they should be more up for it after last week. That shambles followed on from the 26v0 job at Sheffield. Widnes by 12.

Looks like Leeds will be sending us 3 forwards for the Widnes match - Ben Littlewood, Tom Nicholson-Watton and Corey Johnson. Johnson was quiet last week but I'd have him on the bench replacing Inman assuming AOB will be back. I'd have Widdop replace Barber in the centre, Barber on the bench. Looks like Gee will be out, so the other 2 Leeds forwards come in for him and the totally ineffective Connor Davies. Salty to replace McComb.

Widnes no great shakes at the mo so I'm going for Fax 22 Widnes 18 after giving the customary points start.

Familiar situation and comments from the fan base and from Finn approaching the game as previous but then again what else can he say when the teams showing no consistent signs of improvement.

Noticed though whilst not being critical the faith and trust in the group type comments that were there earlier are now missing so he knows where the problem is.

The added pressure of getting them to perform looks like it’s showing and he looks tired but the focus and determination is still there.

Anyone know what's wrong with AOB? I understand that Widdop endured an horrendous artificial pitch burn at Sheffield!

Gareth said on Fax YouTube that wasn't a problem.

Widnes had been going through their traditional mid season slump before their last game but then again Fev's form was awful as well. I hope I am wrong but if we play okay then I reckon we lose a close one and if we play like we have been then Widnes win comfortably. We should see this as a free hit out against a play off team.

Fev lost at home to Donny yesterday which goes to show how truly awful we played last week. It will take a massive improvement to get owt out of today's game against an injury ravaged Widnes who, incidentally, have drafted three dr/loan players in.
