It is looking very congested around us on the league ladder so we could really do with 2 points on sunday. I think Maizen is injured for them so he will not come back to haunt us in this one. As for us how do we tighten up our defense with this group of players i do not think Finn can. He as got us looking more dangerous with the ball and I'm hoping that will be enough to get the win. |

With the Whinos not having a game, hopefully we'll have Johnson and McCormack in the squad which should do the trick. |

According to Whitehaven coach Maizen recovered from injury and will now be playing. |

Fax and owt below SL are slowly and deliberately being allowed to drift into oblivion and those complicent should be ashamed. What our BOD are thinking is beyond me. We've just had a great tournament at Siddal with loads of young boys representing our town and proudly wearing Fax colours but we all know where the best lads will end up. The thing is though, without clubs like Fax there will eventually be no pathways to the top as the clowns in charge of SL/IMG hope for in following their quest for having an Australian system over here. Just take a look at what's happening to the amateur game to see the future. How do we change the course the game is going? All i can say is something drastic needs to happen and maybe a breakaway by non SL clubs is the way forward. A season or two of playing each other half a dozen times might bring the 'big boys' to their senses. As for the 'haven game we've already beaten them comfortably in't cup and i would expect a 'home' win by twenty. Up The Fax! |

I get what you are saying Hudds but our club, or any club in the Championship, is in a position to change what happens with DR. You can argue they could all stop using it but the fact is that clubs can save money and improve the quality of their teams by using it. "What our BOD are thinking is beyond me" - At the moment I imagine they are thinking we need to survive in this division at all costs, if we go down I imagine we go belly up its really that simple. Also in my opinion we have used DR pretty well and Leeds have given is some good players. Yeah its not ideal but again with the team we had and the injuries we have had we were pretty much nailed on for relegation. We are working out of that mess at the moment which is what we all want and it don't really matter how we do it if it gives the club a chance of survival. With regards to the tournament I think originally set up where it were for lads who were not associated with any SL clubs. With the hush hush surrounding that the reality is that Fax will not have a chance of signing those majority of lads first time round and will get more chance when they are released by SL acadamies. As we have seen recently with our "project" players, we really do not have a set up that can afford to carry more than 1 or 2 unproven players. There maybe that opportunity through the college but unless we have a reserves set up(which we can't afford), as much as this looks good its hard to say what the longterm result is going to be. As for the game with Haven I think we will win this one comfortably although if Maizen plays he will be out to prove a point to Finn after he refused the opportunity to bring him back recently. |

t's all about just surviving these days which is all pretty depressing. And quite a few other clubs getting dragged down. Fev only got 1.5k against York and Sheffs top of the table clash with Widnes attracted just 1k. So we're not the only ones. |

Crookes back in the squad- while I'll be surprised if he plays this week great to see him back as his return would massively strengthen whats consistently been our weakest part of the team all year |

Without being totally convinced based on our season so far but just starting to feel we are slowly turning the corner I’m going for Fax to start the game with 110% commitment from the whistle and have the energy to stay in the game to the whistle and have the attack to rack up a decent score and get the points. |

What a strange game. That first 30 minutes was abysmal and for all the world we looked like a team that had given up. The try before half time gave us a glimmer of hope and then we came out and blew 'haven away with some great trys. Once again Joe Keyes orchestrated the play but also a special mention to Charlie Graham who is proving a real asset to the team. Up The Fax! |
