Biggest game of the season and just like Keighley this team cannot be underestimated, it’s impossible to know which fax side will show up but we have a history of taking supposed lesser sides for granted. More than likely grixs’ last game at the shay and would be nice to send him off for a win , also I would imagine a few players potential last home game too. The new electronic scoreboard should be up n running let’s hope the final score is in our favour.

Grix was obviously far from happy with performance of some individuals at Keighley, I'll be surprised though if he makes many changes, partly because he hasn't a huge number of options - Maizen and Pickersgill in the backs and Fleming in the forwards, unless Calcott is fit again. Don't consider Maher to be a viable option. As mentioned above likely to be the last home game for a number of players, we rarely seem willing to announce these in advance of the last home game, preventing them getting a proper send off which I think is a bit disappointing . I've a horrible feeling it's going to be another nail biter- if they want to sell many early bird season tickets I hope they've been primed about how important thus one is!

Another game where when Fax are involved could be on a knife edge.

On the one hand it could be worse for Fax having to face Swinton at home needing a point but with our erratic performances it could be worse for Swinton having to face Fax away needing the 2 points.

I haven't got a clue what will pan out in this game which you could say is exciting or frustrating depending on your point of view. If pushed i would say a Fax win by 20 which was also my prediction for the Keighley match. Lol!

Well its forecast to be about 15 degrees cooler and much wetter than when we played them at theirs. Here's hoping for a performance akin to the 2nd half of that game to make it easier on the nerves

Fax by 7 in another lacklustre unispiring performance. Whats the news on Calcott, is his season done? Didn't watch the interviews after the Toulouse game so not sure what got said regarding it? Huge loss for us if so as he has been our best prop by some distance the season.

Swinton have been somewhat of a bogey team for us, but looking at their squad there don't have any standout players who will give us a problem but have some solid forwards in particular, I notice Fax former player Gavin Bennion is there whom I always thought was useful.

We "should" be really up for this in which case we'll win by 4 or 5 scores. If Whitehaven get trounced by Toulouse the day before, then Swinton might come with a more relaxed damage limitation attitude.

Fax 36 Swinton 12

Will Calcott can be seen in the opening sequence to the chrisfaxforever video on YouTube and appears physically fine with no visible strapping, also looks well in the playoff promo on fb , doesn’t guarantee anything but I’m hopeful he’s fit .

He also looked fine on the pitch before the Keighley game just helping the other lads out in the warm up with no strapping of any kind, we missed him as he's just got better as the seasons gone on and reminds me of a young Chris Hill in style and ability.

I suppose i could go round the houses with the permintasions of this match for both sides but for me if we can not win this match then we do not deserve to be in the playoffs.
