York have narrowly lost 26v24 at Whitehaven tonight before taking on Fax at the weekend. Whether tonights game and result will have any bearing on Sunday's match remains to be seen. What it does do, very surprisingly, is it leaves York in a real relegation battle and they need good results soon especially with Swintons results of late. Fax struggled badly in the 1st half against The Lions recently before running away with the game in the second forty but Swinton beat Widnes last time out. We will need more of the same on Sunday and i would like to think we have enough to take the two points. Looking forward to a good weekend in York and a victory to top it off. Up The Fax! :D

This result isn’t as cut and dry as the league table suggests and York have been competitive against both leigh and fev in recent weeks and have some players back the loss to Whitehaven puts them in a relegation battle and with fax still littering their game with I’ll discipline and brainfarts it could go either way . It’ll be interesting to see if there are any changes to the starting pack . Might be worth starting with lannon to stop us getting rolled early on .

Always go for a Fax win. We have shown that even with very poor starts we
Have quality to come back and take a win. Give Salty a rest with Maizen on the wing and Landon to start. Any mid week game takes its toll on semi professional players. Fax by 30

Surprising to me York have found themselves due to various reasons in the relegation scrap. Newcastle look gone to me but the other spot could be 1 of a number of clubs so that makes them dangerous opponents on sunday. They did lose last night in what sounded like a seesaw type of game and it will surely have taken a toll on them as part time players with another short turnaround for Sundays game. I will go for a fax win 16-30.

Based on the Grix interview looks like either Murray or calcott will be dropped for either larroyer or someone on dr or a loan player .

I can't for the life of me see how Calcott could be dropped. He's been very good these last few games. I'm starting to wonder about SG! Lindley Liberal Club, Ossett Silver King 4.3% Mmm!

Yeah calcotts been good so I would guess Murray but it’s in response to us getting rolled in the opening 20 minutes of the last 2 games.

Maizen gone on loan to Hunslet. Would like to have seen him on the wing as well. When Walmsley goes to dooper league next year, would maybe think that Maizen has the ability to emulate what Walmsley has achieved.

Murray has been dropped for Sunday and Castleford's Fonua is included in the squad. With McComb also returning, I'm not sure where Fonua will fit in. And didn't he not show up when selected for the Fax squad at Widnes at the start of the season?

Fonau was recalled last minute by cas against Widnes. There’s a few options, drop salty n tibbs play fonau and McComb . He could play fonau at centre with salty , McComb or tibbs on the wing . At a stretch he could play fonau at prop , cas fans moaning about losing his pace but he packs a punch both offensively and defensively.
