Excepting social media and our gigantic billboard on Skircoat Road I haven't seen one thing pushing Sunday's opener against Sheffield. We have our 150th season four days away and I can bet half of Halifax is unaware of the game coming up let alone it heralding the start of Halfax RLFC 's milestone anniversary. Fixture lists everywhere, the electronic ad board on Market Street, the mobile A board trailer that Town have used and a proper billboard outside The Shay are just some of the ideas we should be using. To say we are starting a new season with a new board of directors and IMG looking on in the background it's really disappointing. Let's hope the team kick off the season in better form. Up The Fax!

Aye, as has been said before, the demise of The Courier hasn't helped us but surely more effort should have been put into promoting this game. It takes a bit of brass granted but some clubs can manage to do it.

I agree. Even if something is done in the next few days it’s too late. People like to plan ahead. We Should have been pushing this game for a leat 2 weeks. As you say there are lots of Electronic advertising boards around Calderdale these could be uses so Much to our advantage. Come on Fax BOD start selling this season social Media tends to only get fans who follow Fax, like us. We aren’t your target market. It’s old fans who left and new potential fans in children and adults who have never been before. But they will Only be reached by advertising in and around Calderdale, bill boards, buses shop posters. Yes it Costs but is worth it in my opinion.

Correct about selling to a new/ lapsed audience. I have just seen that the Courier has got an eight page supplement out this week celebrating 150 years of Halifax RLFC.

I don’t want to be negative but what is the circulation of the Courier. It’s good that it’s been produced but I don’t think the courier sells many hard copies nowadays. Also the fact the league starts in 4 days not even the RFL web site have anything about the championship starting or an overall preview of the upcoming season. All in all the whole coverage of the start of the championship season is a wet squib. When the season launch was held at Keighley the other day there wasn’t covered on the RFL site and it wasn’t covered in any press I saw. It gos to show how uninterested the majority of the UK press, sporting press and public are in Rugby League.
I have just started watching the championship preview program on the full 8o minutes show on you tube. At the start they talk about the grading which will come from img and as things stand according to them we will not be in the top 5 championship sides to receive a grade b and it ultimately all comes down to what we bring to the game off the pitch which is why it is so important to get things like our match day promotions right.

Match posters and fixture lists are now available to download and from the club shop. Anyone who can distribute them to local shops, pubs, clubs welcome. Well done to the club for this.
