So the build up to the new season steps up this weekend when we play our first friendly at Wakefield. Looking back to our game with them at the same stage last preseason they were way too strong for us and with them having already played a game it will be a tough game again. The main thing for me is we come through the game without any injuries and with us having a settled spine in our side we should gel quicker this year then previous years and hopefully give them a good game.

Aye, last year i was shocked at the gulf between the two teams. Like you say though the paramount thing will be to get minutes into the lads without picking up injuries. As it stands it looks as though we are going with just the two friendlies, Hunslet the week after, so let's hope it's enough to get us up to speed for what is a vital season ahead. Up The Fax!
Hear All, See All, Say Nowt. Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt. And if Tha ever does Owt for Nowt, Allus do it for Thissen.
Looking forward to the game , like previously said hopefully come through with no injuries with a small squad, one game in fax had woodburn hall , Knowles , worthington out long term , we can’t afford for a repeat of that . Good to see a local lad in Kai Morgan being given a run out for the two friendlies and looks quality in the highlight reels of Leeds academy. It’ll be interesting to see how Maher , doro and king match up to superleague standard forwards . Also to see the progress of cole oakley and of course Jake maizen.

Just seen the Trinity team sheet and the first 17 is almost full strength, certainly a line up I could see playing at some point in SL. After the 17 it's more youngsters. Of course that's no guarantee of a Trinity walk over, I've seen us end up with egg on our face in these games before.

Should be fun.
It matters not, it's a training session and will be treated as such. The Redoubt, Harry's Bar, Fernandes, Black Rock, Hop etc will be visited!

Lucky you I’m driving for a change (sarcasm ) have a kwak at fernandos brewery tap on me or even a Scaldis Caractère , you might not remember the game like but still lol.
SG will be looking to see who can take it from the training ground onto the pitch in a full game environment as it doesn't always follow that if you look good in the former you will in the latter.
The players will know this and have plenty of incentive to put a marker down for a starting spot.
On Kai Morgan, being an x Siddal lad the motivation will be there for him and that's a good starting point and from the club the thinking behind it will be based on at some point in the season it's likely that one of the halves will pick up an injury and we will need some good cover so may as well have a look at him now before it gets down to the real business to see if he's the right man or we need to keep looking elsewhere.

I thought you gave us a good game. You were very physical and faster than I expected.
I think the first half was more representative of the two teams. 18 - 0 but it’s more or less what you’d expect between SL and Championship. The second half was messy with Trinity making numerous changes and substitutions.
I didn’t see any Fax players who stood out, but I did think you looked very well drilled as a team and not short of skill.
I’d rather a game any day and that was a real tussle.
My first time at belle vue since 2009 and was disappointed in the ground , I appreciate that it’s undergoing works but as a fan’s spectacle that was a poor match day experience. That aside fax were very disjointed in the first half but never felt we were physically dominated , 3rd try was soft . Our pack overall looks better than last year I was impressed with doro , Maher , king and Forster . Young inman looks ready made for fax and I have a lot of hope for him now and going forward. Hope tibbs is ok , didn’t see much of maizen but Wakefields line speed quickly squashed our attack . Kai Morgan looked lively and look forward to seeing more of him against hunslet . I’ve seen enough today to convince me we’re potential contenders.

Clearly you don’t appreciate things else you wouldn’t post that. When two sides of the ground are being rebuilt before your very eyes I think the problem is blatantly obvious and the cure is clearly in sight for heavens sake!
It was a testimonial not a league game and you paid accordingly. Wasn’t that long ago that you could only watch Fax from behind the sticks was it.
