I will post all German matters on RLFANS using just this name and use another posting things on Fax. Things are really looking good after what we feel was a poor 2008 in many ways. We have recruited a couple more people and have managed to appoint a part time development officer in March in Uwe Jansen. We continue to have a good relationship with the halifax Club and they send us things like DVDs of games and these games get passed around Germany-So it helps us to show Rugby League especially in training and in peoples free time and Fax get some exposure out of it. Hopefully a few people will end up being Fax fans!! Any way here is a brief rundown on whats been happening and what is planned

Also there is now U16s & U18s games and Open Age games happening in Germany. Most of these will be around the Heidelberg, Kaiserslautern, Frankfurt and Karlsruhe area. We have had contact with a couple of amateur clubs in the Halifax area including Greetland Allrounders and King Cross Park and we are hoping that maybe in 2010 or 2011 a Halifax based youth team would do a tour to play in Heidelberg an U16s team or U18s. This is not as easy as getting a team across due to various rules on Child safety and how important it is that people are aware that they are representing Rugby League and England/GB and any trouble (People getting drunk etc) could set Rugby League in Germany back as certain Rugby Union people are looking for any excuse to stop us or cause problems!
