I had a favorite but forgot his name!, reffed around the 1988-1995 era around. (Don't have a Rothmans Annual to hand)

Never liked Gerry Kershaw,

remember the Connolly brothers.

Amazing how we all remember past players but not refs (humans try to forget bad experiences!!)

Gerry Kershaw was the Commissioner at Featherstone last Thursday...he's still around.

And as dapper as ever.

Brian Galtress was always a favourite of mine, can't remember why though, although it was great having Alan Burke up at Thrum Hall, just to be able to read out "...and the referee today is A Burke!"

That reminds me of the time someone in the Scratching Shed was blowing a whistle and causing all kinds of problems on the pitch.

The PA man at the time (must have been Terry?) announced "Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention. There's an idiot in the ground blowing a whistle"

Priceless.
