Post subject:  The Harris "try"

Now this is not a bitter comment as we won..

but... Did anyone.. I mean anyone think that should have been a try? Even Harris himself didn't think it was..

but then again, how did Hicks say yes? That is pretty naff vid reffin IMO and after seeing him ref in the flesh he is just as bad (Miles sending off).

Trouble is he gets away with these blunders week after week with no issues when if I made the same mistakes at work I would either be re-trained, had a word with, sacked, or just prelaced by someone better.

it was guess work at best, nothing more, cannot have been 100% sure. Hicks is crap in the flesh on the pitch, he's just as bad watching a bloody tv screen!

I cant understand why a Ref that was 2 feet away from the Harris effort has to go to the video ref ? and how he came up with a try is totally beyond me! It might not matter now because we won, but it did put us under pressure.

Come on RFL you really need to sort this out, its making a joke out of the game !!!

It was short, no doubt in my mind - Even Harris thought it was short.

Oh well.

Having watched the game back, I don't know why Hicks gave it, other than the fact that he's a bit of a muppet when he wants to be.

Didn't make a whole lot of difference though.

The great thing about RL is that the benefit of doubt goes to the attacking team. The TV angle from behind the line was 50/50 IMO and you couldn't really see anything from the TV angle in front of the line. I think I would have been pretty miffed had it been awarded against my team, but as a neutral I can see how Hicks came to his decision (even though he is usually a numpty).

At the ground I couldnt obviously see if it was a try or not, but Harris and the rest of the team seemed pretty clear that it wasnt, by the way they lined up to play the ball.

I have just watched it again on Sky and I am 100% clear that it wasnt a try, even ALL the commentators were sure it wasnt a try.

Hicks is just a complete and utter joke.

I really do believe certain refs walk into a bookmakers, place a bet on the team they think are going to win, and then officiate accordingly.

It was def short, but your last try was forward (in which the ref wasn't going to give) until he looked his gormless touch judges.
