He had been linked with Barrow a few weeks ago. I think they will be some truth in this.

Well if I am honest, I am glad he is not coming our way.

That surely is an outrageous thing to say, Lee Briers is a class player and would stand head and shoulders above any other half back in this league.

I don't buy into the idea that he would come to the club and single handedly cause destruction because he is an awful horrible man who is selfish etc etc.

An outstanding coup for Barrow if they pull this off!

I still feel like we need a proper stand-off to accompany Black, i like Govin but he just doesnt seem to control games and often takes the wrong options in attack.
Penky is definitely a hooker and nothing else.

i actually think that the age of him is a main reason why we are not going for him i mean barrow at the minute are not in a posision to be putting a franchise bid in i'm not saying they wont in 3 years but now there not in a posision to unless they moved to a bigger ground.

i just think he needs to be signing a younger stand off, breirs isnt going to be still playing i wouldnt have thought by the time the franchise comes round and even if he is he would possibly only stay with us for 1 super league season even if he was still playing.

we need to be looking at younger options if you look at our squad the main bulk of our playmakr options are young enough to still have a good few seasons in them by the time the franchise comes around and i think that is what matt needs to be building for, i just dont think a player his age no matter how good he is is worth the money we would undoubtably have to pay for him when he wont be around for the franchised which is what we would ideally want.

Good for Barrow i say. If they raise the profile of the game then all for the good. If Whitehaven can maintain their past strengths then two strong teams in "Cumbria" will be a welcome boost for the game up there.

And a sniff at a SL license just because of geography which is an absolute joke. Probably how Gateshead have signed that Aussie half back.

My factors are age and I dont want Fax to become a retirement camp seeing as we are doing so well with our current average age as well as if the rumours are true about him off the field - then we defo dont need that and nor would i want to find out.

aint people missing the boat here,,?? we have Anthony Bowman, who i think is going to be a class player, ok at the momont he int getting much game time, but am sure when the time is right matt will have him in the team, next time it comes around to apply for super league mr briers will be going out of the game, were as anthony will be coming to the top of his game so imo i dont think we need to sign a stand off, but at the end of the day there is only one person who can decide if we get one or not, and am sure matt will make the right choice, as imo matt must be one of the top young english coach's in the game, and you dont get there by making the wrong choice
