My opinion its a risky decision. What experience has Robinson at coaching any Rugby at any level?

At least Edwards worked his way through the coaching ranks at RU

Robinson head coach? Can't see it.

He's got a very experienced coaching set up around him, he isn't going at it by himself, he's much too clever for that.

We could discuss this "problem" forever. Why should young British coaches stay in RL when the selfish clubs insist on bringing in foreign Johnny's ??? They have got used to a high salary and the RFU and RU clubs are prepared to pay so they will go where the money is, who can blame them ?
The RL clubs will kill their own game by bringing over foreigners, there are dozens of British coaches who are out of the game and should be in employment at first grade level. The SL has become stale as a spectacle, each game is robotic five and kick, there's no flair anymore. Halifax were the "entertainers" last season and hopefully will continue to be, let sides have to "work us out" and find a way of defending us instead of picking out the channel that Holly defended like the last two seasons. BORING !!!
Calland is doing a fine job encouraging his team to play football from anywhere on the field, the only scoring chances against us against Barrow were both from our own loose passing. It's entertainment, don't "die with the music in you".
The Widnes owner used the coach and team's "style of play" as a reason to sack his coach last week, hhhhmmmmm......

Interesting article in the Times today about it. As recent as December 2007 ( a month after he retired after RUWC 07) he said there was no chance of him coaching at the top level as he saw what it did to coaches under the presssure.

Wonder what made him change his mind?
