Heard the board are trying to push the Widdop deal. Crazy if so, we don't need to become a retirment village for players that are past it especially in positions that we are already pretty strong in. Spend the same sort of money and bring in 3-5 quality forwards would be my choice.

I'd be surprised if Widdop would command the same money as 3-5 quality forwards, Greg, but I share the same view that we could be taking on somewhat of a white elephant. He's got the size, however, to play at loose so if he's not asking for a lot and he keeps himself in trim, maybe he could be useful with all his experience.

Looks like we're announcing a retention at 5.

Unless it's Maizon due to Walmsley leaving I don't want any more retentions, quite the opposite..

Ben Crooks - happy with that one, seemed to be the only one still trying in the last 2 games

Provided the much needed experience in the backs and knows where his winger is, just need Jake or someone with some genuine pace on his outside.

I was not in favour of his signing but was pleasantly surprised with his performances last season. Unlike some he did not give up in games so a good retention for me.

Very pleased with this signing. I thought he had a really good season after signing and it showed just how much we had missed not having a centre at the club. Hopefully can get another centre signed up in the off season to join him.

I heard widdop was very much in the works and whilst I can see the reservations I can also appreciate the pros , an experienced player who has played at the highest level who can play 3 positions and adds guile , game management and a good kicking game which is something we have lacked , Keyes and woody and indeed widdop are injury prone but can all play in each other’s positions.

If he comes as part ofthe coaching team as well as a player I think that would be a better option because he won’t expect to play every game as he is on the coaching team.
