Having watched the game back I think the female fev fan who can be heard parroting ‘ come on rovers’ in a shrill Norah batty style voice should receive a lifetime ban for persistently offending my ears .
For the barber incident i was watching the game and gale took the ball in and dropped it i was all excited about us getting a chance to attack fevs line and the next thing i see was the ref going to is back pocket to sin bin barber. I didn't see the ref make any signal as to why he made that call i presumed it was for backchat. Also when tangata got binned in the second half he didn't stop having a go at the ref while he was walking off i thought if he doesn't stop he will get sent off. And as greg says murray admitted in is post match interview that he dropped the ball trying to get it down. It is too late now but all that effort and nothing to show for it feels like 2 points lost that we should of won.

Just watched the game on YouTube and Fax gave it a right go. Not a lot between the teams but we didn't get the rub of the green we might have done on another day. Neither did we get the best decisions by the man in the middle, the Barber incident was one which was particularly baffling. We are definitely getting there and we won't be losing many more if we keep that type of performance up and get some players back. We could quite easily be playing Fev twice in quick succession again later in the year. We'll see. Up The Fax!

Watched it back last night and got to say the Ref cancelled out quite a few Fev handling errors, there was 3 or 4 times Fev knocked on in their own half only for Fax to be given off-side, not surprised Barber got a little irate.

Absolutely, and each one of them decisions is a twelve tackle turnaround also. Plus it's not always how many penalties the ref gives, it's whereabouts on the pitch they are given.

Barber's sin binning was surely for repeat offenses. It was the fourth penalty Fax had conceded in the space of three minutes, the only thing I would say is the ref didn't noticeably signal the warning sign that the next offense would be a sin binning (do they still do that?).
There were a few strange decisions and certainly not all against Fax - for instance on the set after Barber had been sin binned, Saltonstall reefed the ball from Hall a yard out, it might just about have been one-on-one but the ball clearly went three or four yards forward yet Saltonstall fell on the ball and was allowed to play on.
From watching the replay of the Barber sin binning I'd say its for back chat just from the ref's and Barber actions after the whistle goes. As far as I know the warning signal is still a thing so Im not sure it were for repeatable offences. Im not sure the ref's decisions had too much bearing on the result and Im sure theres multiple things evening it up, like the forward pass in the tackle before Fev's first try, its a good couple of yards forwards but on the flip side how many penalties did we get near our own line in the first half that let us off the hook?
With just a little bit of the rub of the green in other areas and we probably win the game it were that close. Jouffrett does not pull up and we probably win the game, Murray gets another yard we win the game, the Fev try off that kick where the bounce was horendous for Jouffret, that does not happen we probably win the game. Its really fine margins and exactly what we want to be seeing away from home against the best team in the division. Not a lot of room for error from now on but if we can take the two points from the Leigh game we will still be in a pretty decent position already playing those two teams once.
