I don't think it can be understated just what a huge loss Walmsley would be for us. You simply can't take a player out of a team who has scored nearly 40 tries and replace that and its a sickener to see him go to a team in the same division.
On a side note its also a shame that it has come out like this with Gledhill getting info from the players agent or a leak in the Fax camp as the time is once again very specific after a positive announcement by Fax.

Walmsley going would obviously be a big loss, but with him loving his time at Fax and a year of his contract still to go, I'm guessing Wakey made an offer Fax couldn't refuse. Could net us a couple of high quality players in return.
Pleased about AOB but gutted about Walmsley. As mention about I hope Maizen gets that spot and will go well. Wingers get a lot of their try's through what the east of the team is doing and making space for them. Most of our team will be the same next season so hopefully Mazarin and run in 30 trys next year
Walmsley to Wakey might not be as cut and dry as it seems, it's clearly not finalised and it will now alert other clubs to his availability, Cas for instance would love to get one over on Wakefield, and Lingard supposedly had a wishlist of Championship players

Agree with this, really hope it does mean we retain Maizen who I think could be a cracking winger. May well be wrong but wouldn't be surprised if its only Walmsleys departure - if it happens- that's allowed us to sign AOB.

That could be true about Walmsley going and getting a fee. It’s no secret that the club (like all clubs) are Low on money and financial income. If it is the reason then the club did well signing Walmsley in the first place and develop his career and now being able to let him go to another club for financial settlement. Those’d days of clubs buying talented young players from others are all but gone.
Understand Wakey paying over double his current contract, plus that includes him moving with them into SL should they do so. It's not all about what we want as a club. A player's career is relatively short so he gets the chance to earn much more doing so and have the potential of playing at a higher level, he needs to take it and hopefully he his successful..apart from when paying us.

Walmsley's been great for Fax. I remember he got dropped the beginning of 2022 (hard to believe that now!) but he didn't sulk and just got on with it. Hope it works out for him.
I know McGillvary has said he wants to stay full time, but at 36 I doubt if any SL club will take him so it may still be a possibility we can snare him for a season? But as already has been mentioned, this may be a great opportunity for Maizen to step in.
