What we need to do now as a club is build on that into what will be a historic season for Fax next year. A few tweaks here and there could push us onto the next level. Heres hoping. Up The Fax! The Grove, shuddersfield. Oakham Citra 4.2% Mmm!
I think you are right when the dust settles on this season we can look back and say it has been a very good season. However disappointing sunday was that will not over shadow the improvement the team has made this year playing some very entertaining attacking rugby and i think our defence does not always get the credit it deserves if i am right we had the second best defensive record this season. All we need now is someone with plenty of cash to pump into the club and we can really kick on from that point of view i do wonder if simon grix will get to the point that i think Richard marshall got to that without more money coming into the club how far can he take us and if he does get to that point how much longer will he stay.

Does anyone have any idea how much Sunday’s result has cost in central funding? As on another thread it was quite a discussion , Ie finish 3rd but lose knockout = finishing 6th, does not make sense but then again whenever have RFL decisions made sense?

I think trying to find clarity in rugby league is a near on impossible task. Needless to say the loss against York won’t have helped us financially, to what degree is open to multiple interpretations at this point I’m afraid .

Does that mean we finish below Barrow? How can that be it makes no sense at all.

Not barrow no , they finished below us and also lost in the first preliminary, if I had to guess I’d say we were ranked 5th in terms of funding but apparently there are other factors as regards central funding like social media hits and attendances so I’m not 100% sure .

Absolutely farcical but that's RL for you. On the match itself I finally plucked up courage and watched it back on video. The teams were very even with only the finest margins deciding the outcome. Roll on next season. Up The Fax!

I haven’t managed to muster up the mental strength to watch it back yet , I’ve watched all the games back this year win or lose but that particular game was heartbreaking, i genuinely thought we’d get to the final this year but hey ho that’s sport .

Not that I have been counting, but how many times has J K hit the posts with conversions or penalties? 6 + Bloody good shot , them sticks are thin ! Not that I am dissing him been a great boot , although he might ask LM to go inside as most of his tries are touchline.

Aye, I was positive we would make the final if we got past York.

Yeah same, not watched it back and also was pretty confident that we would make the final. I know its not much consolation in knock out rugby but even playing so far below par like we did we really were not far off winning the game and it took York to be very good to beat us. At least that is a little positive we can take out of it in to next season.
