Be interesting to see how many apply and what the calibre of the applicants is.
This could give another indicator of where the club are at because anyone interested would surely want to know what he was taking on and what they needed to do it.
Just simple things like. Have the BoD got any money? Have we even got a BoD left? Will I get paid on time? Will the players? Will we have anywhere to play or get kicked out of the Shay for not paying the rent?
Not that the club are likely too say much other than.
"We have had world wide global interest and over the last 2 or 3 months we have painstakingly and rigorously vetted all interested parties."
Which likely means Left Field Larry was on holiday in Spain and will be back in a couple of weeks.
So it may be just down to whoever gets it to show some of the above.

My first thought when the term left field was used was possibly rhys lovegrove, I know nothing about him but remember either watching or reading about him having a different approach to coaching .
My first idea of leftfield is someone like Jamie Bloem just because he is a friend of a friend of a board member and for some reason they think its a great idea. It has to be the cheapest option so I really don't know what we can expect here but we really need someone who can steady the ship and can save us from relegation next season as it will be difficult again with 2/3 going down again(presuming same format to reduce league to 12) and knowing Oldham won't be anywhere near the bottom 2.

Let's face it, Fax have always gone for the cheap coaching option. The last coach to move on to become HEAD Coach at another club was Calland, and that was 8 years after he left us. Before that Linnane over 20 years ago. Besides that, all our coaches have either retired or gone on to be an assistant elsewhere really showing that they were not up to being the main boss. Hey, Tony Smith is free at the mo!
We are barely alive as a club and have a huge mountain to climb to even make it to the new season. We couldn't afford to pay our staff a few weeks ago.

Surely no one thinks we'll draw a big name coach?
We don't need a big name coach. At this moment in time we need someone who can get the club, team, fans , the town back supporting the Fax. Maybe Scott Murrell is the answer? Dusty Miller, Milltown Platinum Blonde 4.0% Mmm!
