It puts a totally different spin on our remaining results now and I am sure if we were to win our next 3, which you can now see as a possibility, then there will start to be talk about playoffs at the right end of the table rather than the wrong end.

Admirable optimism.. :D defense has improved over last couple of weeks.More youth and energy in pack and excellent in the troublesome centre areas from Crookes and Barber. However we were poor in attack but the difference was we got the bounce of the ball on several occasions which has not been the case most of the season.

Other than Keyes walking through a huge gap, it looked like we couldn't score if we played for 180 minutes. We scored via a kick dropped by their winger, an interception and a loose Batley pass picked up by our fastest player.

Optimism is needed, but we won on Sunday because the luck went in our favour for once.

I agree our attack still looks out of sorts but we won because we scored more points than Batley.

The two teams defended really well and though a few looked out on their feet at the end we kept up the intensity in defence that had been missing most of the season. The young lads played their part in that as Finn said.

You make your own luck and on Sunday the lads definitely earned theirs. I just hope Kav is ok , he looked to be really struggling for the last quarter.

Should all pitches be level from end to end ?. at what point does a pitch become unplayable ?.
did you play up hill for the full 80 minutes ? or were you allowed to change around at half time...

It's an obvious advantage to play on it regularly than once a season...

I wasn't mentioning it because of the unfairness, just that it's ridiculous having such a steep slope. The only other ground I can think of with a noticeable slope is fev, and that's not too bad. I've never known a ground where the toss of a coin deciding who plays which way has such a massive impact.

Fax may be looking for a new ground soon, especially if the new Labour government tells councils to sell off their non core assets to settle their debts. Maybe we could build a new stadium on the slopes of Beacon Hill, there's plenty of space there

There's a couple of fields just off Trooper Lane that might make a good pitch
