Crap 1st half from Widnes, thought we were very lucky to be in the game at half time - which was incredible considering how rubbish we were and not to mention gifting tries for fun. Better 2nd half from Widnes and probably should have made more of the possesion and at least got the game to 18 all if not 20-18 ahead. Despite how well Halifax played in making yards and how enthusiastic all of the players were, I don't think they were that special in attack and probably the defence was probably the best aspect from a fax point of view.
As unlikely as it seemed at half time, Widnes had the possesion to win the game and although its very early doors, it does give Fax a massive boost in terms of going for top spot and a bit of a dent to Widnes' chances. Even though we are only at the beginning of the season, it has to be remembered that in 2006 Hull KR didn't lose a single league match until top spot was assured and in 2007 Castleford only lost the 1 match. So if anyone thinks this game didn't really matter, they are kidding themselves.
P.S. Was good to see Beswick have another poop game.

But no club in this current league is as strong as Hull KR and Cas in the respective years. It's a very fine balance between around 4 clubs in the division if you want my honest opinion and more games will be lost as the season progresses.
I also agree regards Beswick, didnt do a thing.
But the same could be said about Webster who also did nothing.

I am more impressed with Bob's defensive game - thought he was a ball handler supreme - but he is regularly putting in over 30 tackles a game (and 42 IIRC at sheffield).

Well done Halifax. Definitely the better side. We're not to far off, but we need Cullen to do his job and coach some of the sloppiness and indiscipline out of our play, if we are to beat you.
Great defence by the way!

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back! Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

Cas and Hull KR were full time in their Champipnship winning seasons, we have been part time from 2004 to now.
Shows how different perspectives are gained from being on the terraces to watching. At the match I thought Black was ordinary, but he was one of our best players for the first 50 minutes!
Widnes were a 1 man team tonight, without Duffy, they looked lost. Webster showed fleeting glimpses of his fantastic talent, but Widnes oin the whole didn't impress me, no cutting edge to their attack and always looking to spoil in defence.
Fax IMO never really hit top gear either, still plenty of room in the tank. Royston just made his play look effortless tonight and Worrincy worked his heart out in spite of massive pressure.
Oh yeah, PS// Nice to see Toa Kohe-Love have his usual excrement bag performance once more, same again next time

Agreed, you're in transition at the moment, you'll be there at the end of the season, I've no doubt, with some good youngsters coming through.
